First Lady Fashion: Melania Trump's Inauguration Day Outfit

I had a completely different blog post for today, but dropped that to talk about yesterday's events, from the fashion viewpoint! I know my favorite professor at Baylor had lesson plans, but if something significant happened, that would get pushed aside for whatever was relevent in the world!

I think the first time I was cognizant of First Lady Fashion, it was in regard to Michelle Obama. Obviously I know Jackie O, but I wasn't around for that! My first election to vote in was Obama's second term. Maybe it had something to do with that? Who knows! But, I remember Michelle Obama's gorgeous grey-blue nail polish and how everyone went crazy over it. I know I immediately tried to find something similar, because I loved it! Then everyone went crazy in regard to her killer arms, that she dared to show. I truly appreciate her love of J. Crew as well!

The fact of the matter is, no matter who you voted for, Melania Trump will have an impact on the fashion world! She's very different from Michelle- but remember, different doesn't mean bad! Michelle and Barack both were class acts when it came to their wardrobe.  With Melania, we will get more high fashion - again that's not a good or bad thing. I know that people are super sensitive to politics in general right now, so that's why I'm stressing this point. You don't have to vote for someone or even agree with them to appreciate their fashion sense! This isn't a political post- it is a look at political fashion and is about fashion only.

I am super excited to see what Melania wears during her time in the White House! Let's start by talking about that gorgous blue Ralph Lauren number she had on yesterday! Coincidentally, I got these blue wedges in the mail yesterday (pictured below) and thought it was fate!! Side note- I loved Hillary's RL cream look, as well as Michelle's tweed jacket! I also think it is neat that together, they were red, white, and blue! Funny when things work out that way.

Anyway, back to the blue... sky blue, baby blue, light blue, robin's egg blue, whatever you want to call it, I LOVE it, but that's nothing new!

See? Been loving it forever! It's not a super common color, but whenever I see it, I'm automatically drawn to it! It is also super flattering, as it looks good on any skin tone. I figure that since Melania just donned it, it will trend at least for a little while, so a round up would be perfect! I'm sure Pantone is like oh geeze- one year late, because it matches one their colors of the year for  2016, serenity. Who cares! I'm in!! Below are some of my favorite picks, in the hue. I tried to make it as well-rounded as I could, so you're bound to find something you like! Shoppable widgets are below the photo. Just scroll through!

What do you think of the color? Love it or hate it, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it on the streets, so get ready!

P.S. There are are a lot of politics in fashion, especially in the white house. I really liked this article in the New York Times!
