I'm sitting here at lunch, in my brand new office, in our impeccable cafeteria and seriously don't know what to type. I wouldn't say I'm in a blogging rut - I have PLENTY of content...it just hasn't felt right. 0 motivation. You may or may not have noticed that I'm actually 2 blog posts behind from what I normally post. A year ago if you would have told me that, I would have laughed in your face. I treat this blog like another job, so to be "behind" on it, would be unheard of. My life has just been so go-go-go, I haven't had a chance to slow down. Maybe I should listen to Despacito more;)

ANYWAY, I posted about burnout (in general, not the popular apparel trend) back in December (catch up here), but interestingly enough, this burnout has nothing to do with my 9-5 job...in fact that couldn't be in a better place. Our new office is beautiful, I am working out more consistently (at the office), and even get to dress more fun...hence this skirt!

J. Crew is my absolute favorite for pencil skirts.  They are just so classy, and don't have to be a  boring blah of a piece of fabric! I also love the fit - my waist isn't the same "size" as my hips, so it is hard to find skirts that don't gape around my middle section. J. Crew does it perfectly! They pretty much look good on everyone, too, which I certainly can't complain about! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is coming up in a few weeks (July 13- August 6) and I'm hoping some of their J. Crew items go on sale. Can you say PERFECT FALL LOOKS?! In case you didn't know, Nordstrom actually sells J. Crew and Madewell, and I love to try and snag it from Nordstrom, because I usually get it faster and shipping is always free;)

But anyway, back to burnout...it is more in my outside of work like where it's an issue. Nick and I are both strapped for time and have been struggling with setting aside moments to just be. I was talking to my friend Kami (of The Kalon Life) the other day and she reminded me that this isn't something you would normally do, ie working out doesn't count as unwinding and relaxing...it's something on your checklist. How do you relax and unwind? I'm still trying to find what looks right for me, but I'll let you know when I do! Yesterday when I got home from work, I sat down to try and write a blog post, and ended up taking a 30 minute nap. OOPS. And no, that doesn't count as relaxing or unwinding either. It is SO easy for me to stay glued to my computer. I'm trying to learn to go with the flow, but hey, we all have our vices.

What do you do to relax and unwind? How do you set aside time for that? Or do you have the opposite problem from me...too much relaxing? Trying to find a happy medium!

Nick and I are off to West Palm Beach next weekend, so hopefully we find a way to get some R and R in there! Fingers crossed we don't realize we actually need to live by a beach;)
