The Perfect Skirt for Work and Play

The Perfect Skirt for Work and Play

Nordstrom A-Line Mini Skirt | Gap Tee | Target Betseyville Studded Sandals | BaubleBar Earrings | Kendra Scott Bracelet

Well, y'all. We finally have a slight chill in there air, here in Dallas. It was a beautiful weekend full of football and sunshine, to say the least. Now is the time of year where we all want to whip out our blanket scarves and sweaters, but it just isn't time for that yet.

I know there's a lot going around about transition pieces, I mean there's a reason there is! At least in Texas, we get wishy-washy weather. We may be a little cold in the morning, but come lunch time, we are sweating bullets and regretting our outfit decision. So, what's a girl to do? Especially if you work a 9-5?

We saw the mini skirt come back on the scene, last year, with the button down, a-frames. Those are still trending this year, but the a-line skirt as a whole is what is trending! These are such great pieces, because they aren't form fitting, are usually longer than any other mini skirt form, and can be paired with any shoe!

I styled the skirt in this shoot more casual, for something like brunch or happy hour; however, I could easily style this for work! Just pair it with a nice blouse - maybe something pleated and somewhat loose fitting and tucked in, or something lacey, for an added texture! It would look awesome with flats or booties, but a riding boot, or especially an over the knee boot would look swell! They also layer really well. Whether that means tights under your skirt, or a fitted tucked in shirt, with a jacket or vest on top, you've got it made.

If you judged this skirt from the hanger, you may have only gotten a trendy vibe from it, which is simply not the case! Yes, it would look great with a bodysuit or a fitted tee tucked in, it can very easily be transitioned to the office...deeming it THE perfect skirt for work or play.

So, what do you think? Would you wear it to work? Do you even like this trend? I was hesitant when I first saw it. Let me know what you think!
