Whew! You guys. We have been back from Belize for a week and I feel like we already need to go back and have another vacation. (lol) The end of the year is jam-packed with everything holiday season - I know it will be 2018 before we know it!

Nick and I traveled to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize for our 1 year wedding anniversary. Ambergris Caye is the largest island in Belize and is known for beautiful beaches and readily available beaches and water activity.

To be 100% honest, when searching for resorts to stay at, I definitely try and find the prettiest one. I just know what I like;) Las Terrazas Resort was the prettiest and then some! To get there, we actually flew into Belize City, then took a puddle jumper (less than 15 min flight) to San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, then took a water taxi (less than 15 minutes) to Las Terrazas! We had been on water taxi for about 10 minutes when Nick said "woooow, that's a pretty one!" I had told him where we were going, but I guess it didn't click, because the one he was referencing was Las Terrazas!

So I loved Las Terrazas, but don't just take my word for it! Here's a brief overview of everything they have to offer, in alphabetical order.

-Amenities. From bikes to paddle-boards, they have you covered!

-Beach. Las Terrazas has a BEAUTIFUL beachfront. It is perfectly decorated with hammocks, cabanas, and chairs. What's even better is that most people don't make it that far down the peninsula, so it's also pretty private!

-Location. Like I mentioned above, it's pretty secluded, so you can relax, but it's also not too far from the city! Nick and I love to explore the culture of where we go, so the fact that it was so close to San Pedro was a plus. Also, if you're wanting to do a total Belize vacation and not just stay on the resort side, just contact Las Terrazas! They offer packages where you spend the first few days doing the ruins, etc and the last few days relaxing on the beach.

-Pool. What pool dreams are made of! I love the option for the chairs in the water, because that's my favorite way to lounge. Just a splash of water and my hair stays dry;) I also love the ability to choose between the beach and the pool. I love that they have a great option for both!

-Restaurant. The resort has a restaurant called the O, to actually mimic the Great Blue Hole, a giant submarine sinkhole that is a scuba diver's dream! They feature local fare and flavor, with the freshest of ingredients. The O Restaurant has different specials each night -we were lucky enough to experience their sushi night (every Friday) and it was DELICIOUS. Also, you can never go wrong with ordering guacamole. The avocados are so fresh and so tasty. We also loved their breakfast burrito. Be sure to try their homemade hot sauce for an extra kick! We indulged in all the desserts, but the Baileys Infused Chocolate Sea Urchin Truffle and the Signature Passion Fruit Cheesecake were our favorites! Don't forget to try a drink from the bar -their cocktails and beverages are super fresh as well. Dine with them or take them to the beach or pool. Also, you have the choice of eating in the restaurant, on the rooftop, in a cabana by the pool, OR a private beach dinner. You really can't go wrong with any of the options!

-Rooms. Our "1 bedroom" was HUGE. It actually had a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, kitchen (full size refrigerator!), dining room, and washer / dryer! I love that I could open my suitcase and sprawl everything out, w/o stepping on all my clothes, etc in the process. It was definitely built to be a home away from home. The rooms also have the ability to connect, so that's great for large groups and even work events. It's not unusual for a corporate company or even a wedding to rent out the entire resort. ALSO, they are adding on to the resort, so more rooms to come! There's different levels of rooms too - ours stepped out onto the ground level next to the pool, but there are also options with actual decks and infinity pools! Oh and a penthouse if you dare;)

-Spa. Total package resort!! There is an option for everyone, so sit back and relax.

-Staff. We were greeted at the edge of the dock with fresh towels and homemade punch, but the kindness and hospitality didn't stop there. They were super helpful and a delight to be around. Definitely a highlight!

That's that! Already booking your trip to Belize? I don't blame you ;) Las Terrazas was great and it couldn't have been more beautiful. Happy travels!
