When I first saw this slip dress, I knew I had to have it. It was so classic and good, I knew it would look great on its own, but found that it could be styled a on of ways and would make for a great purchase. I immediately thought it would be perfect for Nick’s company Christmas party! My main dilemma?? Which color and which size! It comes in navy, burgundy, and garnet, and I couldn’t decided between the latter two. After convincing myself I didn’t need both, I went with the deeper red. Size wise, it runs true! I bought my regular size and a size up, as slip dresses are often tight around my hips, but this one runs so loose, I considered sizing down one. I ended up keeping my regular size though. (Wearing a 4 here.) To be honest, this dresses only downfall is that it is silk, which needs to be hand washed and can be somewhat finicky. Even so, this is still one of my favorite simple style purchases this year!
So how to style it? First of all, it’s great alone. It’s pretty neutral, so can be paired with any of your favorites black, nude, or brown. For the holiday season, you can even pop some dark green in there! I do think it is a great base layer for work though, which is why I new a blazer would work fantastic over it. For that matter, a long cardigan would work well too. It’s obviously not work appropriate without some kind of covering… though some like to layer slip dresses over a t-shirt. I don’t know if this is my personal style yet, but I’ll try it soon! layering with a tee does dress down the look, so just keep that in mind!

This poncho sweater is my current favorite - it’s almost sold out, so here’s a similar one. I can throw it on with anything! Just like layering under isn’t really my style, layering over isn’t really either, so throwing this sweater on over it, was trying something new for me! I would still wear this to work, I’d just consider it work, but make it fashion ;) And no, I can’t get enough of this nude, caramel hue!
This last one is my “cool girl chic” vibe. Ankle boots are so in and a leather moto jacket never goes out of style. Dressing them this way is for sure more edgy and fun! Maybe pop a dark lip or some chunky jewelry too!
P.S. If this dress is familiar, I also featured it on this Instagram post and this blog post!
