I have literally had this post in my draft section since earlier this year. I’m sure my newsies have grown tired of seeing it on my to-do list each week. (I send a newsletter every Wednesday. Sign up for it here!) What better day to bring it out than on Amazon Prime Day?! Prime day is described by Amazon as an “epic parade of deals” and actually spans over 2 days - July 15th and 16th. They have a lot of “flash deals” that happen really quickly, so be on the lookout for those, but in general it’s a good day of normal sales too. Though things do sell out quickly ;) I figured I could share with you some of our previous Prime Day purchases and some of my Amazon favorites in general! You have to be a Prime Member to take part in Prime Day. You can get a free trial month of Prime by clicking here. Just in time to participate!!
I married into an Amazon addiction. I had an Amazon account before I met Nick, but I didn’t reallllly use it. I thought I did, but I 100% did not. I found out about his love for Amazon on accident. We had only been dating a couple of months, when I opened his linen closet and found the entire area stocked with paper towels. PAPER TOWELS. It was all downhill from there! We order in bulk and we order in subscriptions. We use Amazon for so many things, I thought it would be cool to make an Amazon Storefront for LMents of Style. It is a place you can go to see all of our favorites; plus, I update it as a I find new things, so check back often! Right now In have it divided into sections called fashion, clean beauty, books, travel, home, pets and food & drink, so things are pretty searchable. Let me know if there’s a section you’d like added!
PREVIOUS PRIME DAY PURCHASES
Amazon Fire TV. We have this mounted in our living room! I think I would actually prefer our Apple TV just because it has more apps, but it was such a great deal, I really can’t complain It sold out very quickly, so I linked a similar option.
Fire Stick. This came with our TV, so that was great! It hooks up with Amazon Alexa, so that is a benefit too. It is a Prime Day deal and would make for a great stocking stuffer, so grab one if you’re in the market!
iRobot Roomba. We use this all the time to get pet hair and other pesky things like cat litter up off the ground. We bought one of their not older, but definitely not newest models and it works great. If there was going to be a Prime Day deal, I would suspect that it would be on a newer model.
Sous Vide Pressure Cooker. We purchased this last Prime Day and let me tell you, IT IS AMAZING. We have cooked the best steaks of our lives in it, but you can also use it for other meats, eggs, veggies, and even cocktails!
iPad. My very first iPad I purchased as a deal! I don’t have it anymore, but have been considering getting a new one andddd there’s a Prime Day deal!
OTHER AMAZON FAVORITES
Daily Ritual. I am obsessed with this Amazon private label basics brand. Their products are so soft and budget friendly. I will say that their products wear like a $20 t-shirt, but really no matter how much a t-shirt costs, it’s going to wear, so yeah. I own every single basic color in their shortsleeve and longsleeve terry cloth tee. Last Prime Day they sold out and didn’t replenish for a while, so snag one if you’re considering it. Plus, they added a ton of new colors! I also have this maxi tank dress and it is fantastic! I styled one of their t-shirts several ways for you here. I also have this dress and wore it as a coverup in Mexico, but it would be great with sneakers and a denim jacket for a casual chic look!
Stasher Bags. These are reusable, silicone bags that are heat proof! They are kind of pricey, but great quality and you can shove them in the dishwasher!
Amazon Alexa. Nick was an early adopter to Alexa. We have several, including the dots andddd they connect with our Sonos speakers. Pretty great if you ask me! I will say that we didn’t start calling her Alexa until recently, as Nick has a sister named Alexa!
Activated Charcoal. Talk about buying in bulk…this bag of charcoal will last me a long time! I use it for a lot of different things, but most recently I shared my DIY charcoal mask with you!
Audible. I’m currently in love with Audible. It has allowed me to “read” so many books and I’m so thankful for it. Nick says that I treat TV like radio in the sense that I’m not always looking at the TV, so it is nice that I don’t have anywhere to look for this ;) I love it for travel too, because you can “bring” as many books as you want! Click here to get a free trial and 2 free audiobooks!
Amazon Fresh. I liiiive to have my groceries delivered. I don’t get everything through Fresh, but I do get most things from it! It is so convenient and I love not having to carry my bags up 3 flights of stairs. You can try it w/o a delivery fee by clicking here. Hopefully it is in your area!
Shopbop. Whenever I shop Shopbop, I actually login with Nick’s Prime account, because you get Prime shipping and returns that way! They have historically done flash deals on Prime Day, so be on the lookout, because they are GOOD.
Puracy Dishwasher Pods. I have yet to find a natural dishwasher detergent that works as well as this one! They have other cleaning solutions that look great too, I just haven’t tried them yet. Also available via their own website too.
WholeRoll. This is a wonderful, organic toilet paper brand, recommended by Branch Basics! You’d be surprised what is actually in your toilet tissue, but this one is safe!
Subscriptions. We love this service on Amazon! We subscribe to things like cat food, litter, tea and more! See what you use the most of and if subscribing could benefit you. You can choose the frequency and how much is shipped, so there’s nothing to lose! You can’t Subscribe and Save to everything, but there is a pretty good selection!
Cybele’s Free to Eat Pasta. I’ve never been able to find this anywhere else, but I love it because it is superfood, veggie pasta! It’s free of the main allergens like gluten, soy, etc and really easy to make. My favorite is the cauliflower one.
Natural Calm. I’ve been ordering my magnesium from Amazon since 2017 for headache relief, but I recently made the switch from magnesium glycinate to magnesium citrate to help with digestion. I had heard of Natural Calm before, but a friend recently recommended it again and when I saw it had magnesium glycinate, I took a chance! I have been using it for about a month and like it so far. They also have gummies and capsules, though I have never tried them. I drink the raspberry lemonade flavor and it is pretty good!
ChomChom Hair Remover. We bought one of these to get pet hair off of our couches and beds. It works like a charm and is pretty easy too. Our couch fabric is a little harder clean, as it is a more durable fabric, but it is pretty quick when we use it on our bed.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Not a product, but this show is only available on Prime Video. I love it! It is funny and charming anddd Rachel Brosnahan is amazing.
THINGS I’M EYEING
Kindle. These will for sure have a Prime Deal, so keep that in mind if you need one for Christmas or something. I have been toying with this idea ever since we cleaned out our apartment earlier this year. Do I really need all these books?! I love them, bit I don’t need most of them and they end up taking up space. I have always thought I wouldn’t get a Kindle, but the thought of bringing it on a trip makes it super appeling to me.
Rise to Wake Alarm. I have such a hard time getting up to my alarms, I realllly want to try one of these, but honestly I’m afraid that it won’t actually wake me up! This one is actually on sale for Prime Day! I just may get it!
Ring Doorbell. We don’t really have a need for one of these right now, but I think they are so cool! These will have a Prime Day deal too, so grab one if you have been thinking about it!
Apple Watch Series 3. I have the original watch, so anything battery-wise would be better - LOL. It is on a Prime Day too!
What are some of y’alls favorite Amazon finds? I know a lot of people like Amazon Fashion, but I don’t trust everything I find. You don’t always know where the items are actually coming from and sometimes the images used to advertise the products are not always the person trying to sell it! Also, sometimes when an item grows in popularity, the seller will try to make more quickly and the quality goes down. I digress… A fashion brand besides Daily Ritual that i have heard good things about is R.Vivimos. It is kind of boho/Free People -esque and isn’t totally my style, but there are some really cute floral dresses I actually do like. For this same reason, I don’t order a ton of beauty online. If I do, I always check the seller and of course make sure it is better than just ordering straight from the store, as sometimes it is actually more expensive on Amazon! Just depends. Make sure to shop smart, people!
P.S. Did you shop at Whole Foods and get $10 towards Prime Day like I mentioned on stories this weekend? I think I’m going to use that $10 towards the alarm clock. How adult is that?! Have a great Monday!!
