Statistics show that only 1/11 people will stick to their New Year’s Resolution for 6 months and 2/5 people give up after two weeks! So, it’s already over a month from when you set your 2015 goals…are you still going strong? Even if you’re not, I've got some tips and tricks from fitspo, Logan Lester. She is a fitness fiend and looks good doing it!

When did you start working out and why?

Since I was a little girl I was very active. I started dance when I was two and continued as a competitive cheerleader when I was seven.  It wasn't until I was fourteen that I decided to compete in my first pageant, Miss Texas Teen USA. That is when I began weight lifting and educating myself on proper nutrition for someone my age. Competing in pageants has been a huge piece of my fitness foundation. Today my passion for working out and living a healthy lifestyle has just increased.

Working out is obviously a lifestyle for you! What are your fitness and beauty essentials?

I never leave for the gym without my FRENDS headphones. I feel like I get a better workout in when I am jamming out to my favorite songs. I try not to workout with my makeup on, so I like to keep my Neutrogena makeup wipes in workout bag. Finally, Twistband pony-tail holders are essential to my workout because I am always on the go. I like to keep my hair out of my face, but I like to use these pony-tail holders because they do not put creases in my hair. LOVE THEM.

 What’s your favorite fitness wear?

I love it all. I will wear anything from NIKEUNDER ARMOURLULULEMON, and BEYOND YOGA. I find my favorite workout pieces regularly from all of these brands.

What’s your best piece of advice for those just beginning to work out or picking back up where they left off?

I like to plant the idea that working out is not easy. Otherwise everyone would do it and have their dream bodies. So if you are truly serious about becoming a healthy YOU and changing your lifestyle… you need to be ready to put in the work. On the days that you feel like quitting, remember why you started. Let your passion that drive you to begin in the first place be the fire that keeps you motivated.

I know that eating right is part of creating a healthy routine. Do you have any tricks for sticking to a good diet?

Nutrition is a mandatory part of fitness. I call my diet routine a β€œflexible diet” because I eat very healthy throughout the week, but I still allow myself to indulge on a slice of pizza or a cupcake once or twice a week. After about two weeks of eating right, you’ll find that you start to not crave or even desire unhealthy foods. Your body tends to reject it. I believe it is important to reward yourself for hard work, but not to use it as a crutch for bad eating habits.

Speaking of a healthy diet, what’s your favorite cheat food?

Chips and Queso. I could eat an entire bowl, seriously!

If you could only exercise one way for the rest of your life what would it be and why?

Weight lifting, because you can change it up in so many different ways. I will say that I believe my body does not work well with sticking to one workout plan. I have to change up my workout weekly. I like to weight lift, bike, go to yoga, hit up boxing, spin classes, etc. Tricking your body confuses your muscles!

 Who is your fitspo?

I love Izabel Goulart and Nikki Blackketter <3

As this is a passion of yours do you see yourself in the fitness field after you graduate from Texas A&M?

For me fitness is a lifestyle. It will be a part of me for the rest of my life. Now, in five years, and thirty years from now I know that living a healthy lifestyle will still be apart of my life.

 How do you stay motivated?

I keep a vision board. It helps me β€œsee” my goals written out every day. It hangs in my bathroom so I have to look at it daily. It keeps me focused and on track.
