Happy first week of spring, friends! I wish I could say that the weather has me sitting on a patio, humming to the beat of a live band; however, this Texas weather is so weird- I've been wearing sweaters since Saturday. It's literally colder than it was on Christmas Day, last year. This morning, I woke up with a 39 degree walk to my gym. Spring is rather pleasant, but honestly, in Texas, it can be just as crazy as our winters. (or lack there of).

I don't know about y'all, but when Mother Nature has these mood swings, my body goes insane. One of those things, being my skin. I go-go-go, and sometimes my skin is the last thing I think about, when really it should be the first thing I think about. You only have the skin you've got, so you need to take care of it.

If you have any bit of knowledge regarding the beauty industry, then the name philosophy should ring a bell. They are known for making a pretty product, but also yielding great skincare results.

Another brand that makes a pretty, yet well-made product, is Under Armour. They are known for their trendiness, but also for their durability  and fitness technology. If you're one of my Dallas readers, then UA shouldn't be new thing for you - our very own Jordan Spieth is a face of the brand. Also, Northpark Center, one of our most popular malls, has an Under Armour Brand House set to open in a couple months. A brand once forgotten on the sidelines, has made a powerful and empowering comeback.

Why do I say empowering? Well, their recent branding strategy is genius. What really put them back on the map, was their commercial with Misty Copeland. (pictured on the 2nd photo from the top). If you don't know who she is, you need to watch her documentary on Netflix. She is the first African American to be a Principal Dancer and is so incredibly inspiring.

Now, UA didn't stop there, when featuring women athletes! For this specific collaboration, they, along with philosophy, teamed up with Kelley O'Hara, a U.S. soccer star, in addition to Nikki Phillippi,  a Youtuber, with over 1 million followers. So, why them? They (like Misty Copeland), have and will overcome injuries and loss. While they are in the spotlight, they are such a good representation of the human race.

Under Armour rejoices in the physical and mental strength of women everywhere, while philosophy honors a woman’s inner beauty and confidence, as manifested in her outer beauty. This collaboration is a movement  to encourage the well-being of women. UA created a breathe bra, while philosophy made a skincare line, designed to help skin breathe.

So, why the "air" theme? Because "Breathing changes everything. Your skin, your workout, your life, your perspective, attitude, perception, day, mood. you can do more when you take a moment to breathe, because…breathing changes everything."

Such a good mantra, right? I think this movement resonates so much with me, because I injured myself a year ago, while training for a half marathon. (If you forgot how/why read here) I'm currently on a running recovery program. It isn't easy, but it is a lot easier, when I breathe. (quite literally!) Additionally, I've been doing yoga for about 6 months now, and it is all about breathing, too! I am a very busy person. I have a full time job, blog regularly, and am trying to plan my wedding, all while trying to eat, sleep, and have some sort of a social life! I don't take enough time to just breathe, but I need to...and a cute sports bra, and some eye cream, and a deep breath, just might help me start.

Will you join me in this revolution? #dontforgettobreathe
