Happy first day of fall! What a whirlwind of a year. If you would have told me last year that my face would be this clear by next fall, I would have said you were lying. I mean just look at my chin fall 2020 compared to now. Sure it could be that pregnancy glow, but I have made a couple changes since then. I have changed topicals and moisturizers, added back in vitamin c, regularly taking collagen, but a lot hasn’t changed.
Keep reading to see what I’m using for my current skincare regimen and how I’m updating it for fall.
If you read my summer skincare update, most things are the same, but I’ve adjusted d a couple things. I’m still taking a collagen supplement daily which I attribute a lot of the brightness and clearness of my face to. My humidifier is still running nightly, as we are in the thick of fire season and the air is dry. I had been using this vitamin c serum, but currently am using this one. I like it, but I’m not sure it is worth double the price. Will let you know once I finish the bottle / try the other one again. I am using this bar to wash my face and really like it though it isn’t idea for travel. For that reason I’ll keep both and use the bottled cleanser for vacation and such. I’m also dry brushing my face every morning after I wash my face / before I put on vitamin c serum. That’s all the newness I think, so let’s get right into the actual routine!
AM ROUTINE
Primally Pure Clarifying Bar. I wash my face with this bar! I wet my face and wet the bar and go from there. Makes sense, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve used an actual bar of soap, so thought I’d mention it. I have this soap dish and really like it. As mentioned above, I still like my foaming cleanser and use that for travel purposes.
Facial Dry Brush. It is so easy and I love how it makes me feel. I wrote all about it here. But seriously, it takes 2 minutes and is a good investment in your skin. Grab one for 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.
Vitamin C Serum. I started using this mid-spring. As mentioned above, I like it, but I’m not sure it works better than the one I was using before that was half the price. Will keep you updated!
Primally Pure Baby Balm. I use this as a daily moisturizer. This is such a moisturizing and gentle formula! It’s made for babies, but I use this for my face! Get 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.
Sunscreen. I don’t use this if I’m just sitting in my house; however, if I have plans to go outside, it goes on! Hats help too but should not be supplemented instead of sunscreen.
PM Routine
One Love Organics Vitamin B Oil Cleanser. I only do this if I wore makeup or sunscreen that day, otherwise, I just use the bar alone vs double cleansing. I also really like the Primally Pure cleansing oil as an option too. Try it for 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.
Primally Pure Clarifying Bar. Same as AM!
Corrective Skincare LA 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. It is an acne medication that helps with resurfacing. I use this every other night because I don’t want to dry my skin out too much. My OBGYN approved this and I am able to continue using this during pregnancy.
***AND / OR***
Primally Pure Baby Balm. On evenings where I use the benzyl peroxide, I just put this under my eyes and on my nose. On off nights, I use this all over my face as a nightly moisturizer. I did a whole review of it here.
Gua Sha. On the nights where I don’t use the benzoyl peroxide and do use my moisturizer all over my face, I do some soothing gua sha. I’ve used several stones and this one is my favorite. Try it for 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.
EXTRAS:
Face masks. I use the Pregnancy Safe Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel once a week - usually Monday or Tuesday. After I wash it off, I cleanse my face, then apply Baby Balm and go to bed. I also try to use Primally Pure face masks once a week, usually around Thursday or Friday. I have all 3 and mix and match what I use. Lately I’ve been using the soothing everywhere but places I’m breaking out. I put the clarifying one on those troublesome patches, then leave on for an hour! Sometimes I’ll use product after them, but typically I will just wash them off, cleanse my face, then apply Baby Balm and go to bed. I reviewed all the masks here. Get 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS. For a more of a budget friendly mask option, use this one.
Facial Tools. My current favorite thing is my new facial dry brush. I use a gua sha stone and a jade roller.
Facials. I wasn’t able to be consistent with this in 2020, but seeing a professional truly does help. I try to go every 6-8 weeks. Getting extractions before the spot gets angry is imperative for my skin.
I truly can’t believe that fall is already here. I’ll try and do a pregnancy skincare post and get that up prior to my winter skincare recap in December. Stay beautiful!! XOXO
