I first started wearing Kendra Scott around 2012. Back then she was known for her color (and she still is), but I have loved watching her brand evolve and grow! I think my first piece was a gift from my roommate at the time, Megan. She gave me green Elle earrings so I could wear them to Baylor games and functions!

I went to college in Waco, Texas…Kendra Scott HQ isn’t that far from it! Founded in Austin, Texas, KS has deep Texas roots which is one of the things I love about her brand. Besides being one of the most genuine and nice people I’ve ever met, KS is even more stunning in person than her jewels. Her beauty is more than skin deep too, as she makes it a point to give back not only nationally, but in small international communities as well. I’ve been to many a fundraiser at her stores! She also has a Kendra Cares program that brings the Color Bar to women who otherwise couldn’t make it there… and free of charge too!
I’m all about ease as of late. I’m trading in a lot of my trendy tops for neutrals and I can tell already tell a difference in how quickly I and happily I can get ready. With jewelry it is no different! I wear my grandmother’s diamond necklace and earrings most of the time, bu if I want to spice it up, I reach for Kendra Scott. I used to reach more for her bright and colorful pieces, but these days I’m all about those neutrals. I typically just wear her gold pieces, but basically everything she does also comes in silver and rose gold, so you’ve got options! If I had to pick one favorite, I’d have to say my Kendra Scott Diane Earrings are my number one. I get compliments on them every time I sport them! I’m also a huge fan of her Edie Gold Cuff too, as it goes with pretty much everything. I still really like using her Color Bar for custom gifts like high school grads in their college colors or maybe someone’s favorite color…you name it. It can be done!
Something that I really respect about Kendra that I kind of mentioned earlier is that she has continued changing up her brand, while clinging to her cornerstone styles. For example, her color pieces were the initial hit, but knowing how trends come and go she took their outer casing and made that a style all on its own to continue evolving. My background as a merchandiser love this as some people can’t seem to grasp the “update” to the best seller. One of my favorite things she has expounded her designs on is her home collection. It is a newer vertical for the brand and they have been killing it! Recently I received this picture frame (c/o) and it is such a beautiful frame. It would make for a lovely gift with a personal photo placed inside. When Nick and I got married a couple people gifted us frames with pictures of us. This was SO nice, because though it wasn’t something from our registry, it was super thoughtful and something our home was lacking. People just don’t print out a lot of pictures anymore, so they were our only decor for a while! A frame like this isn’t one you’ll throw away. It will be kept for years and remain a classic.
I know Kendra Scott is very much a Texas brand, but they have done well to expand into other states. Have you heard of KS? What are your favorite pieces?! If you’re a fan, need to buy a gift, or maybe just want to try her out, next Sunday 6/23, she is having a sale! The catch is that you have to download the Like to Know it app and shop through there! Follow me @ElleMulenos and see all my favorite KS picks, in addition to the other brands that are participating!
P.S. Don’t forget that if it is your birthday month, you can show up at a Kendra Scott store and get 50% off one item! Need some inspo on what to get? Just click here to see all the KS pieces I have styled on LMents of Style!
