On Sunday I announced that I was beginning a new series - Women in the Workplace (WITW) Wednesdays! (Though if you get my weekly newsletter, you’ve known about it for weeks ;) You can sign up to get it here.) I get a lot of requests for workwear, but more than that, I get a lot of interest in what I do outside of the blog. I announced last Friday that I was leaving my job of 5+ years for a new opportunity. I don’t typically talk about my work life on here (I like to keep those lives separate), but I do occasionally talk about work experiences, specifically as a woman. This series will hopefully go up every Wednesday (we’ll see if I can make it work!) and go over everything from what to wear, to how to ask for a raise or even how to gracefully leave a job. I had such a good response on this post last year, I figured these types of thing would really resonate and hopefully be helpful! That’s why I started a blog anyway… to help! I’ll also be interviewing women in the workplace so you can hear directly from them too! If you want to be interviewed/featured (or even a request for a post), send me an email at Lauren@lmentsofstyle.com. ALSO, I’ll b starting a new monthly newsletter specifically geared toward WITW… it will round up all of my Women in the Workplace posts and share exclusive thoughts and tips. Okay now to this dress. When I saw it, I thought it was super work friendly and a budget friendly price. I can wear open toed shoes and sleeveless outfits to the workplace, but it you can’t, this would look great with flats or pumps too. Would also pair well with a cardigan or perhaps you should grab it in in short sleeve or long sleeve instead! At its under $100 price tag, this baby has sold out once, but is now back in stock! I wasn’t sure on sizing, but based on the reviews it said it ran big, so I got a S instead of a M. I love a good wrap dress and what’s cool about this one is that the under wrap layer is part of the top, so it won’t fly all the way open like a traditional wrap dress! To be clear, the front will still flap open, but it own’t unwrap all the way if that makes sense!
Another thing I look at when shopping for work (that I have mentioned before, even as recently as this blog post) is that I like to be able to wear work things outside of work. I would 100% wear this dress to church, a wedding or even a nice dinner. I’d just change up the shoes and accessories to dress it up or down. If I threw on a denim jacket, this would even make my look backyard bbq friendly. Gone are the days where I shop for a dress for just one event. All about shopping smarter!!
Where are your favorite places to shop for versatile workwear? Let me know in the comments below! Also feel free to leave post topic suggestions too! Have a great work week and get it, girllll!

Something we have considered regarding work is finding “boring businesses” to buy - ones that aren’t necessarily cool to purchase, but people still need, making it a smart investment. We looked into these home services franchises as an option. Have you considered any? Another idea I like is a laundromat. Maybe they don’t need a dress like I’m wearing here, but hey, they still count!
