Oh hey January, what I am convinced is the longest month in the year! It probably doesn’t help that we are in the thick of 2 year old toddler days that it feels long, but honestly I don’t mind. I like January. It is a little cold, but it is fun. A clear, new chapter! Nick and I started dating in the month of January which was fun because we got to experience all of our first holidays, etc together in chronological order.
This year will inevitbaly have a lot less travel than last year. 2022 was travel for other people, 2023 was travel for us, and then this year, 2024, it will be a bit more about rest and staying put, extending our roots. For those comfy times, here are some of my favorite things right now. Enjoy! Click on the image to be taken to the link, or just tap the hyperlinked text in the paragraphs below the collage.
Adidas Racer TR23 Shoes (c/o). I never really gave Adidas much thought as an athletic shoe. I wore the superstars in the early 2000’s, but not much else since then. I got these and wondered what took me so long! I was going to keep my older sneakers just to have as an option, because I only want to wear these! They are so comfortable and great for walking, HIIT, and more. They go with pretty much everything and are often on sale. If you need a new shoe to throw on, I definitely recommend these.
Renee Rouleau Skin Recover Lotion Moisturizer. I recently switched out my moisturizer for this and my skin is LOVING IT. It isn’t heavy, but is nourishing. I am loving RR products - she is so smart and knows her stuff. It truly shows in her products. Take a skincare quiz to see which skin type you are and go from there.
Renee Rouleau Vitamin C Serum. I’ve been using this since early December and my skin truly loves it. It has been my favorite vitamin c serum I have tried. It goes on more like a lotion, meaning it isn’t oily, nor is it thick. It is fairly quick drying.
Gap Body T-Shirt Bra. I needed to update my bras in 2023 and I bought a couple but wasn’t in love. A friend told me about Gap’s bras and I can honestly say she was right. It is so good and affordable! It fits true to size for me.
Renee Rouleau Triple Berry Peel. (c/o) Another great RR product!! I love to use it once a week as a refresh, at-home peel. It truly smells like something I want to spread on a warm biscuit. I like to follow it with her Detox Masque I mentioned in my November favorites.
Pause Studio. They have several locations, but recently opened up one near me and it is such a treat! It is such a comfortable, yet cute space. I’ve experienced their contrast therapy (sauna + cold plunge,) cryotherapy, and led bed. Definitely check to see if there is one near you. I’ve experienced such relief from their services. They also can be done in a time crunch - Cryo in total will take you 10 min max, LED bed probably around 15, and for the constrast therapies, you can do a quick 30 minute session, with about 15 minutes extra to shower, etc. Love it and how their services make me feel.
Defined Dish Dinner Tonight Cookbook. I pretty much love everything Alex Snodgrass produces, so of course I had to grab her new cookbook! I’ve made a couple the recipes and they are so good. Check it out if you are in the market, especially for more whole 30 type recipes that are often gluten free and dairy free or have easy adjustments.
Llama Naturals Kids Vitamins. I transitioned the twins to a different vitamin when they turned 2. I looked on the market to see what used whole foods, didn’t have a ton of sugar, etc and Llama Naturals was what I landed on. They are gummies, so I cut them into quarters before giving them to the twins. They love them! Llama naturals carries other products, even for adults. They truly have something for everyone. Lululemon Everywhere Belt Bag 2L. Nick has been stealing my Lululemon belt bag since I let him borrow it for Europe. He received a nicer one as a gift (just so he would stop wearing it with nice sweaters and shirts, haha) but then for Christmas received the larger, new and improved Lululemon belt bag and it is so clutch. He loves it and I don’t have to carry around his wallet anymore. He carries mine ;)
Lake Pajamas Sweater. I fell in love with Lake pajamas last year. Don’t forget that they offer other clothing besides loungewear. I bought this sweater right before Christmas and it is SO GOOD. It’s cotton, so it isn’t scratchy and is breathable. I grabbed a M because they were sold out of the S, but I actually really like the slouchy fit. The red and cream was great over the holidays, but carry over perfectly into Valentine’s Day and even Fourth of July with a pair of cutoffs. It’s also classic enough to not scream “this is a holiday outfit” too.
