After skipping last week’s Women in the Workplace Wednesday, I’m baaaack and it feels so good. Workwear is something I receive a lot of questions about, but when I write about it, it doesn’t get that much traction. Well, in comparison to my other WITW topics that is! I meannnn who cares about what to wear, when you’re too busy worrying about how to ask for a raise?! I feel ya.

I’ve always loved clothes. I love the way they make me feel! Whether they make me feel confidant or comforted, they are doing something. Now, don’t hear me say that clothes make the man. That’s not what I believe. Buuuut I do think they can make you feel happy and motivated, so there’s that.
Workwear is fun for me, because I like to see how I can re-wear the pieces outside of the office, for years to come at that! I believe in buying quality pieces that will withstand the test of time in both style and quality. Today’s look is more on the trendy side, but I just couldn’t help myself, because they are definitely pieces I’d re-wear out of office. These pants are super stretch and comfortable, yet definitely work appropriate. Regarding sizing, I’d normally buy a M in these type of pants, but due the stretch, the S worked wonderfully. The blazer is also something that I typically wouldn’t reach for. I love the orange hue because it is pretty, but also perfect for fall. It will go with jeans, dresses, skirts and more. Plus, since it is layerable, the styling of it is basically endless! The camisole and shoes are items I have had for a whiilllle. Def some good basics to keep in your clothing arsenal.
Right now the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is going on, which you probably knew, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock and/or avoiding social media like the plague. I already shared what I have been shopping for + my top shoe picks, but today I’m workwear. The sale is somewhat overwhelming, so I cherry-picked some of my favorite pieces and styled them a couple of ways. Hopefully this inspires you, helps you shop smarter/see how you can re-wear things, anddd maybe you can re-stock your workwear with some pieces you need! I picked these plaid pants, these classic black work pants, and this plaid blazer to style. I know that all workplaces don’t dress the same, and all style is different, so hopefully there’s something up your alley that I shared!

Which was your favorite outfit? Look 1, 2 or 3?! It’s so fun for me to put these together! Regarding the pieces I shard, these strappy sandals are basic staple for every closet. They didn’t have these sandals in store when I shopped, so I ordered them online and I can’t wait to get them in. I ordered these flats and these loafers to see which I like better, as I’m in need of some new black loafers. I bought these mules last year and they are the perfect fall transition shoe. I have these kick flares and they are probably my favorite black jean to wear right now. These flares (if s/o out, fully stocked here) are one of my favorite things from the sale. I love that they are nice enough to wear to work, but totally something I’d wear on the weekend too. I ordered these boots in grey and black to see which I liked better. So chic!!
Nick got some great workwear pieces from the sale too! He got this sport coat, which he plans on styling with his favorite Weekday Warrior pant, which is also included in the sale. Regarding dark jeans for work, he loves these and owns several pairs. He snagged this work shoe, and some new work shirts too. These are a great loafer too. He has them in black and brown!
Andddd to end on a cheesy note, whether you do or don’t take advantage of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, it is what is on the inside that counts. No amount of cute clothes can cover up an ugly inside. Be kind and smile. That is all. Have a happy Wednesday!! XOXO
