While I haven’t started on my Holiday gift guides yet this year, I hope this portable outdoor wine glass post is helpful to you, as it would make for a great Christmas gift! When I polled you on IG the other day, about 58% of you said that you wanted gift guides out asap instead of November 1st. 47% of you said that you preferred gift ideas under $50. 78% of you said that you wanted more home items than fashion which completely blew my mind… more on that subject later. Regardless, this portable outdoor wine glass I’m sharing with you today checks all your boxes!! You get the idea now, it’s under $50 and is home / kitchen type goods. You’re welcome ;)

Keep reading to learn the pros and cons along with the specifics of the Vinglacé Wine Glass.

I’m enjoying the Erewhon Firecracker roll here! It is so good and the best “grocery store” sushi. GF too!

I bought my Vinglacé Wine Glass mid June 2020 and it has become something I use on the regular. Nick was kind of on the fence about the purchase and asked if we really needed them. In his defense, we do have a lot of wine glasses, but we are outdoors so I thought they would be quite useful to us. Anyway, I convinced him we would use them regularly. Guess what? We do and he loves them!

There are ton of different portable outdoor wine glasses on the market… why Vinglacé? Why this one? The biggest draw for me was the fact that the inner cup is glass and NOT metal. Most of the popular ones are stainless steel and therefore give off a metallic taste. There are more benefits than that though! Before I dive into those, here are the specifics of the product.

SPECIFICS of the Vinglacé Wine Glass:

Here are my favorite (and least favorite things) about the Vinglacé Wine Glass:

PROS:

  • Glass Inner Cup. Again this is my favorite part! I don’t want my wine to taste like metal and prefer to drink it from actual glass. The Vinglacé cup allows me to do so and in style!

  • Cute Outer Cup. Surrounding the glass inner cup is a chic stainless steel outer cup. This prevents it from breaking and gives it support a regular wine glass wouldn’t have. Trust me I’ve dropped it ;) I also love that there is pretty much a color for everyone!

  • Sippy Cup Lid. The lid that attaches has a piece that you slide back when you are ready to take a sip. Having a lid on it has saved me many a time!

  • Multi-Purpose. Sure we mostly use it for wine, but we also use it for cocktails and beer! It’s really great as an outdoor (or even indoor!) glass for whatever your beverage of choice is.

  • Dishwasher Safe. The inner glass cup pops out and you can put that as well as the lid directly into the dishwasher! EASY PEASY.

CONS

  • Size. It doesn’t fit it a cup holder. This might seem silly to say because you shouldn’t be drinking adult beverages in the car; however, I drink things besides alcohol in it. Sometimes I’ll bring it to a friend’s house or the beach and it would be nice if it could fit in the cupholder so I didn’t have to hold it. I suppose I could get the Champagne flutes or the Tumblers and those would fit fine though!

  • Sippy Cup Lid. I listed it as a pro because it is, but most of the time I drink my beverages in the cup without the lid on. I prefer it that way! It gets in the way in my opinion, but no more than any other cup lid! If I keep the lid on, I can usually only get the last drop out by removing the lid.

  • Temperature. The outer cup is stainless steel so it does keep your beverage cold; however, if you are comparing it to a Yeti or something like that, the Yet will keep it cooler longer, especially in a hot place, as it is all metal versus partially glass. I think the Vinglacé works great, but just wanted to give you that comparison. I don’t like my drinks too cold anyway!

  • Price. It is about $10 more than others on the market, but I will gladly pay the higher price for the glass, removable cup.

Overall I love my Vinglacé wine glass and would recommend it! They sold out for a while over the summer shortly after I bought them and have only come back in stock recently. I would suggest buying them early if you are thinking of a holiday gift, as they are likely to sell out again. Would be perfect outdoor gatherings and bonfires that are quickly approaching! If you plan on giving it as a gift, it pairs nicely with the receiver’s favorite bottle of wine!

P.S. If you are looking for something similar for a coffee lover, you should get them the Carter Everywhere Mug. Nick has it in black and loves it! Think of it as a mug / coffee thermos. The inner cup is made of ceramic like a mug and it literally keeps your beverages hot (or cold) all day long. It has a lid but no sippy cup feature. The idea is that if you drink out of it, drink directly from it like a mug. Nick likes to top off his actual coffee mug with it to always enjoy hot coffee, so he treats it more like a thermos. He has the 16 oz and I have the 12 oz in yellow. Note those don’t fit in cup holders, but Fellow did launch a cupholder friendly one called the Carter Move Mug if that feature is important to you! I use it mainly for tea, but it works great for wine, cocktails, whatever beverage you want… even soup!

Oh and if you need a gift for someone who is neither a coffee or wine person, try my favorite glass water bottle!
