Almost 2 years ago, Primally Pure launched their skin specific serums, followed by their skin specific face masks. This year (2021), Primally Pure re-launched their skin specific products and made the line bigger and better! If you’re unsure which collection is best for you, you can take the quick and easy “find your skin state” quiz and they’ll let you know. Personally the clarifying collection is best for me, but they also have a soothing line and a plumping line. Your skin can actually benefit from all 3, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself dabbling in all of them later on. I do this specifically with the face mask collection.

I’ve been buying from Primally Pure for a handful of years now. I’ve loved watching them grow and expand into different categories and collections. While my OG product is their deodorant, their skincare has easily become a large part of my routine. To be honest, I get approached by a lot of different beauty brands and most of the time I turn them down. One, because they don’t meet the nontoxic standards I strive to use and two, because I’m happy with my current routine. When it comes to trying new products, if anyone can get me to do it, it is Primally Pure, because their line is so good!
Just for the record, trying new skincare is no joke! I typically test for 4 weeks minimum, usually longer, before ever talking about it / stating an opinion. Sometimes it leads to redness, breakouts, and angry skin, so it is not for the faint of heart. I struggled with acne for so long, I hesitate to change my routine very often and only introduce one, MAYBE two things at a time, including makeup.
One reason I love Primally Pure, is because of their ingredients. Not only are the natural, but they actually work! Plus, they aren’t harsh, so I didn’t have to really change anything when I found out I was pregnant with twins. I did stop using the cbd serum, the cbd mask and the blue tansy deodorant per my doctor, but other than that I kept using everything from the PP line. When I learned that they were revamping AND expanding their skin specific collections, I couldn’t wait to see what they did. Basically they upgraded ingredients (better quality serum and masks), rebranded other products (like the mist), and added new items (bar and cream).
COLLECTION OVERVIEW
Let’s go over the entire clarifying collection. Note that each of these products are available in the soothing line and a plumping line too.
Primally Pure Clarifying Bar. PP has had a baby bar for a while, but no other soap bars. These are made to not only cleanse, but to help in the areas you struggle with most. This is probably the easiest to incorporate into your routine, as cleansing is a basic step. Note that there is also a double cleansing kit you can purchase with this bar if you’d like.
Primally Pure Clarifying Mist. Formerly known as the neroli complexion mist, this spray is good any time of day. I am trying to be better about incorporating this, but basically it helps your skin restore its natural balance. Use it after your cleanse, after you mask, or even as a setting spray.
Primally Pure Clarifying Serum. They call this a serum, but it has oil in it, so it is kind of more like an oil. Note that it is more glowy than greasy, but I just wanted to let you know the consistency. All of PP’s serums are chock-full of skin loving ingredients and a great way to get nutrients to your skin. Much like the rest of the clarifying collection, the clarifying serum targets acne and helps with discoloration.
Primally Pure Clarifying Cream. This cream is so dreamy! The fact that they use manuka honey in it makes it so buttery and luscious. I haven’t been using it on my face just because I love using baby balm as a moisturizer, but I like using it on my neck and the top of my hands. In comparison to the previous beauty creams, this product is a lot softer if that makes sense. It seems that they turned the blue tansy one the soothing cream and while the plumping cream has peppermint, it doesn’t have palmarosa, so that one is kind of discontinued? I’m unsure how they feel compared to the old product, but I’m sure it is new and improved!
Primally Pure Clarifying Face Mask. One of my favorite masks ever! Seriously. I pretty much only use the 3 PP masks and 1 other one. The did upgrade the ingredients, but the biggest difference I noticed between this one and the old formula is that the new one goes on smoother / is less gritty. The same product I know and love, but better. I reviewed all 3 of the masks here if you want to know more about the benefits and ingredients.
WHAT’S MY FAVORITE PRODUCT FROM THE LINE?
If I have to pick just one, it’s the clarifying bar. I use it morning and night. Its only downfall is that it is a bar of soap, so doesn’t travel very well. I don’t really want to bring a soap container, so will likely just stick with my cleanser in a bottle for overnight stays.
Now, I use the bar daily, so that’s why I picked it; however, I’m obsessed with the clarifying face mask. I use it somewhere on my face at least once a week. Sometimes I put more than one style of mask. on my face, so that’s what I mean by “somewhere” on my face. I love how rich and rejuvenating it feels. It has clay, but also has honey, so it is nourishing and doesn’t strip away your skin’s natural barrier.
Overall I really like the new line and am so happy that Primally Pure has expanded the collection. It’s a great place to start for someone who doesn’t really know what to get or what their skin might need. I love the targeted approach and that it is easy to understand… not to mention that the ingredient lists are short, yet made to work. If you’re looking to update your skin regimen, start with one of these PP products today. Remember you don’t have to make the switch all at once. Ease into it - your skin and your wallet will thank you!
