Happy new week, y'all! I had a wonderful weekend with not much planned for the first time in a while! It was perfection. I got my hair cut, we chatted with our wedding pastor + his wife to discuss our ceremony and I cleaned a lot. Next weekend I have my lingerie shower, my wedding dress fitting, a business trip on Monday to NY, my bridal trial on Tuesday, and my new kitten on Thursday. WHAT. Yes. My life is kind of crazy, but I love it.

One of my favorite things this summer was visiting Le Soleil d'Or in Cayman Brac. If you have missed my other posts on here and want to see more photos and more information, check out my sunscreen tips, Le Soleil d'Or resort review and the Golden Sun Cayman Farm review

It was a super relaxed trip, which is something I don't do enough! When I was planning my outfits for the trip, I definitely wanted that island feel. For some reason when I think of tropical places, the color red comes to mind. Maybe it's because it reminds me of that cheesy Hawaiian print we all know and love? Not sure!

It wasn't until I started dating Nick that I decided to wear red more. He bought me a pretty red dress for our 1 year anniversary and loved how I looked in it, so gotta make him happy, right? In all honesty, I thought it looked weird with my hair, but forget that, now!

I'm obsessed with this dress - it looks like an off the shoulder piece, but it wears like strapless dress, so it is more comfortable! (the arm pieces are connected and go on like sleeves) Did I mention it is under $50?

Anyway, back to the color red...I don't think I realized how good of a color it was, until now! In the summer it works as the perfect pop, but in the winter it is the perfect little Christmas piece, so it is pretty much a year-round look, making it a neutral. What? Yes. I have been loving burgundy as a neutral, but now think red falls into that category. I mean hello? Who doesn't look good in a little red dress. How do you feel about the color red? Do you wear it? Do you consider it a power color or is that a thing of the past?
