How to Keep your Engagement Ring Shiny even after the Wedding
Free People Sweater | Daniel Wellington Classic Black Watch | Fuller's Jewelry Engagement Ring and Wedding Band
Nick and I have been married for 4 months now. Can you believe it?! We can't! Something that I thought would settle down, but hasn't, is people asking to see my rings! I thought I had to keep them shiny before the wedding, but it is even more so now! Besides that, I mean these are pieces of jewelry that I will have forever, so I want to keep them nice. How do you treat your jewelry? I try to be good, but I know I have room to improve. Sometimes it is just hard/not very easy, you know? While your first step after getting engaged should be getting your ring insured, you want to make sure it never loses its sparkle. Follow Jewelers Mutual’s comprehensive cleaning and care guide for your daily, weekly, monthly to-dos!Here are my top 3 rules I try to always abide by, no matter the situation!
1) Don't wear it while showering. Shower gel, shave creams, shampoos... just not something I want to get all over my ring. Not to mention that I don't want it to accidentally slip off!
2) Have Ring Dishes throughout the house. Ring Dishes are so cute and practical! We have some in our bathrooms, kitchen, and bedside table. They keep them safe from being forgotten, slipping off a table, or being nabbed by the cat;) Here are some of my faves: For the newlywed, for the bow lover, and for the modernist.
3) If you use beauty products while wearing it, be sure to clean it after. Nothing will dull your ring faster than hairspray! Keep it shiny, y'all! My mom has an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner and loves it!!
