About two months ago, Nick and I took a road trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas! Nick got to experience a wonderful birthday weekend andddd a real fall season! Northwest Arkansas is truly an underrated area and a great place to vacation! The scenery is outstanding and there is something for everyone! Here's a list of all of the things we did / recommend:
TO EAT.
Hugo's. I had been here a couple of times and knewwww Nick would love it. We can't say no to a good burger!
Oynx Coffee Lab. THE BEST COFFEE! This is Nick's favorite and the reason I planned the trip!
Sassy's. The town favorite barbecue joint that is as yummy as it is budget friendly.
Theo's. We went here for Nick's birthday dinner! It was a nice atmosphere with yummy food and drinks!
Arsagas. We didn't get to go here, but it was recommended to us as the best brunch joint!
Does Eat Place. Again, we didn't go here, but it was recommended as a great steak place.
AQ Chicken House. Kind of nostalgic! I remember going here when I was younger. Think of it as a sit down restaurant, but they just serve fast food fried chicken.
Little Bread Co. We ate lunch here! They make all of their breads and pastries and also have sandwiches and such. Very yummy. We took some of their pastries to go! This was recommended by one of y'all on instastories, so thank you!
Cannibal and Craft. The best place to go for craft cocktails, hence the name, on the famous Dickson Street.
TO DO.
Devil's Den State Park. Even if you're not a hiker, still at least stop by an take a gander! It is a beautiful drive and a natural beauty. We hiked for about an hour and never got tired of the view!
Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. A must see! You have the Frank Lloyd Wright section, which always sells out, so be sure to buy those tickets well in advance; however, there are several other exhibits. This time the main rotator was Chihuly! I always love seeing his work! The entire museum was wonderful.
University of Arkansas. My dad went to the U of A, so I grew up cheering on the Razorbacks and being familiar with the campus. Though I didn't attend there, it does have a special place in my heart and is an all around beautiful campus!
The Block. This is a cute little walkable area with food and retail spots. This is where Hugo's is and also where Riffraff is - one of my original favorite stores!
Bentonville Square. This is where the *best* location of Oynx Coffee Lab is. once you're there, you're not too far from Crystal Bridges and of course, some yummy coffee. We didn't get to go, but were recommended several restaurants there: The Hive, Pressroom, Tusk and Trotter.
TO STAY.
Inn at the Mill. This is where we stayed! It is technically Springdale, but only 15ish minutes from University of Arkansas/ Fayetteville and like 20ish minutes. It's about 30ish minutes from Bentonville, so a good little area, not to mention that the inn is the cutest!
And, that's it! Our trip was so good and a great getaway from Dallas and real life. We couldn't recommend going enough. It's great for anyone from family trips to couple getaways and even group trips! Have you been to Fayetteville / NWA before? Did I leave off any of your favorites? Drop a comment below so I can make sure and go next time!
