After having Dallas Cowboys season tickets for the past 5 years, you might say I have had my fill of Arlington eats. Don’t get be wrong, I love a good plate of nachos, but sometimes I just don’t want ballpark food or ballpark prices for that matter.

Arlington is a fun little pocket of DFW. You have ATT Stadium, Six Flags over Texas, Hurricane Harbor and the new Globe Life Field. Chances are you will be over there for a concert or maybe just want to eat before (or after!) a 3pm game. There’s a lot over there, but what to actually eat?!

This past weekend we were met with this same predicament. Nick and I went to Six Flags for the first time in forever! We had actually never been together, nor had we ever ridden a roller cast together. I had a sponsored campaign for Instagram (See it here! This blog post isn’t sponsored though.) and it was so nostalgic for me. Six Flags was always a fun field trip or a break from school and something we used to do fairly regularly with our Godparents. Nick and I decided to celebrate our first roller coaster ride together by choosing the first car of the Titan. #GOBIGORGOHOME So fun!! Side note - did you know that you can get discount Six Flags tickets if you buy them from HEB?! HEB is also nostalgic for me, because that’s where I bought my groceries in college!

Six Flags hasn’t really changed a bit! In a good way;) We got a taste of our favorite rides, and peppered in some new ones as well. The biggest surprise for me was that they no longer make their famous “pink thing” on a stick anymore. You can only get it in Dippin' Dots form. Luckily it still tasted just as good! But yes… toward the end of our day date, we got hungry and were ready to leave the park.

Here are some of our favorites around the area…and they’re reasonably priced too!

  • Marquez Bakery & Tortilla Factory - It is literally across the street from one of the ATT Stadium parking lots. We love their tacos, but they have a full menu too!

  • Gyros House - Their gyro sandwiches are so good! They are on the smaller side comparatively speaking, so you might get 2. Nick orders 2, as do I; however, I eat only about 1/2 of the second one and give the rest to him. Their pita bread is fantastic!

  • Twisted Root Burger Co. - Not a place unique to Arlington, but a place local to Texas. Their burgers are great and so are their fries.

  • Babe’s Chicken Dinner House - Also not a place unique to Arlington, but another local flavor. They have some of the best fried chicken in Texas!

  • Bodacious Bar-B-Q - If you have a hankering for some smoked meats, this is your spot!

  • Prince Lebanese Grill - I haven’t actually been here, but I have only heard good things and it is super close to all the action!

  • Restaurant506 - I haven’t been here either, but it is a really cute bnb that also has a restaurant. Only heard good things about it as well, but I don’t think it is your typical pre or post game spot. Maybe head there for brunch on a weekend w/a noon game?!

ALSO, I haven’t been to ‘Texas Live!’ At Globe Life Field yet, but there’s a lot of restaurants there too. There is a Lockhart Smokehouse located there that you might try out. It’s the only one there that I have been to. We love the Bishop Arts Lockhart’s location, so hopefully this one is good too.

Are you an Arlington local or do you hang out in that neck of the woods? Where’s your favorite nearby place to eat before a game or concert?! Let me know in the comments below, so I can try it out!
