I feel so bad about getting my Seattle content out slowly- we were there and back over a month ago, but don't worry, I'm working on it! One of the things we knew we wanted to do while we were there was wine taste! We didn't have a ton of time in Washington in general, so we wanted to keep the area concentrated and Woodinville was perfect! Nick has a lot of family in Washington and even he hasn't done a fair share of wine tasting - there's a lot of good wineries there, but I feel like it's overlooked, as people usually go straight for Napa or the Willamette Valley. Side note - one winery that we didn't have time to visit that we would had loved to go to was Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. So, here's how our day looked!
Lunch at Purple Cafe and Wine Bar. This place was so yummy! If you want to do brunch, you can, but I opted for lunch. They have a lot of great wines here, but we didn't have any, since we were planning on hitting up several tastings.
Wine Tasting at
Mark Ryan Winery. This tasting room is music themed and super fun. It was a great place to start out! Their "dead horse" was my favorite wine that we tried.
Sparkman Cellars. This was such a homey little tasting room! It's where the pictures of me by the staircase was taken. Their Holler Cab Sauv was my favorite!
Elevation Cellars. This was in the warehouse district - a short drive away from the other 2 listed above. I loved the open set-up of the tasting room! The Reserve Cab Sauv was my favorite!
Pondera Winery. This one was also in the warehouse distrct and had an awesome cave room! I also loved the art they had on their bottles and on the walls; it was by the same artist. I remember really liking their Chard!
Dinner at The Grange Cafe. This is actually in Duvall, but not that far away. They are farm to table and oh-so-yummy!
Dessert at C.C.'s 2.0 Espresso and Ice Cream. This is right down the road from The Grange Cafe - you can never go wrong with a local, homemade ice cream shop!
Have you ever wine-tasted in Woodinville, Washington? Did I leave any of your favorites out?
