I didnāt think much about purifying the air in my home before moving to California. I guess I kind of considered it before moving? I began getting more plants pre-move as they can help with air purification; however, that was more of an aesthetic reason with benefits at the time. Fun fact, we still have 2 plants that made the road trip with us from Dallas and they are thriving!
Okaysou Airmax 8L (c/o)
Itās no secret that Los Angeles has pretty bad pollution and that the air quality isnāt the best; however, the simple act of moving didnāt make us reach for an air purifier. Iād like to say that experiencing our first fire evacuation / smoke filled skies last October (2019) made us buy one, but wasnāt even it. We bought our first air purifier around May. Part of it was prompted by COVID-19 and purifying our home that we spent so much more time in.Part of it was the fact that the purifier was attached to a fan, which we desperately needed since we didnāt have central AC and werenāt allowed to get a window unit. That was a Dyson unit which I wrote about and reviewed here. At the time, we kept our windows and doors open a lot to allow a breeze, which made our little purifier work overtime. About a month ago, we moved apartments to a bigger space. In addition to being larger, we also gained an upstairs, which prompted me to want an additional purifier for our space. Between the air pollution and the fact that we have 3 pets, we could use all the help we could get!
I began looking at other air purifiers to add to our home. We didnāt need another fan / purifier combo since our move also include 2 window AC units (!!!). Other air purifiers I began looking at were SO MUCH MONEY. I didnāt have the budget for that, nor did I really want a fancy schmancy purifier. Just give me a good quality, reasonably priced purifier to get the job done. Enter Okaysou.
We have the Okaysou Airmax 8L rated for 500 square feet, but they have the Okaysou Airmic 4S rated for 300 square fee as wellt. We have it running all day long in our bedroom and it is great! We also have cat food and litter boxes in our room and you would never know thanks to the air purifier! Hereās some reasons why I like the Okaysou air purifier it and why you should consider it:
Settings. There are 3 different speeds. We typically have it on a ā3ā (the highest setting) since we have so many pets. Our other purifier only has 1 speed.
Sounds. It is pretty much noiseless! No running sounds or anything like that. Since we sleep with it, it is nice that it doesnāt make any noises. Our other purifier did have soft sounds. I think that was mostly from the oscillating fan, but I am not sure.
Price. The best part! Any purifier is better than no purifier, so if you can only afford under $100, grab the Okaysou Airmic 4S . The model we have is the Okaysou Airmic 4S and it is $120. Most purifiers I was looking at were around $500 - $1000 or more!! Donāt forget to consider how much filters are. Their filter is under $30. The filter for our other purifier is more around $75.
System. Okaysouās purifiers are rated for high efficiency particulate air (HEPA), which is the only kind of purifier you want to buy! It is also slated to remove mold, dust, pollen, pet hair, smoke, viruses, bacteria, pollution and more!
Looks. A lot of technology isnāt cute. While the purifier isnāt the prettiest thing Iāve seen, it is certainly not the ugliest. It sits by our dresser and pretty much blends in!
Overall I am super happy with our Okaysou Airmax 8L and would highly recommend it. As we enter into the holiday season, albeit smaller this year, we will have some get-togethers. Air purifiers are crucial for as they assist with ridding the air of viruses and bacteria. . Okaysou often sells out, so be sure to grab one quickly if you are in the market! Enjoy your clean air :)
