What are the best twin books on the market? Which are my favorite ones? I did the research, so you can just click and buy!

As a twin mom, Iā€™ve been through all the twin books on the market. Some are not relatable or broach issues personally I would only bring up if they were dealing with said topic. Others Iā€™ve thought to myselfā€¦ excuse me what is that attitude? I donā€™t know about your babies, but mine often repeat things, especially phrases in books. Some in theory are good, but not my favorite once Iā€™ve read them. I donā€™t know what it is, but after becoming a (twin) mom, my patience is slim to none on books with whiney characters. I also just find some plots, I donā€™t knowā€¦ dumb? All that to say, since I am the one who is reading these, often multiple times in a row, I totally lean into my preference when stocking my boy girl twinsā€™ shelves with books. Here are some of my favorite twin childrenā€™s books out there. Happy reading!

  • It Takes Two: A special book for twins by Lauren Mulenos. THE baby book gift for twins! This board book is short, sweet, and appeals to all sets of twins. The rhyming cadence is fun and the illustrations are gorgeous!! This would be a perfect twin baby shower or birthday gift, but also works well as a the twins get older and learn how to read. Theyā€™ll love reading this book and relating to the twins on the pages.

  • Fraturtles by Keith Greenstein. This paperback book is about a set of boy girl fraternal twin turtles. Itā€™s fun and easy to read, plus gives some love to boy girl twins, which are lacking in other twin books. I chuckle a lot in this book.

  • Twins Mac and Madi series by Linda Herron. A 5 book series about identical twin girls, Mac and Madi will do everything with you from going to the beach to trying new sports. These are a little bit longer to read, but the message is sweet and important especially among identical twins. I like that the books come in paperback and hardback options. They also have these cute coloring and activity books - get sporty and birthday versions.

  • The Best Twins Ever by Kelcie Lynn Yack and Karissa Rose Patel. This story is about identical twin girls who like the same things, but also different things. They learn the importance of being themselves and how they can do that all while maintaining their twin bond. This paperback is a little bit longer to read, but the message is good. I also love how it is written by twin sisters!

  • The Twinniest Twins by Amy Kuhr. Available in both paperback and hardback, this story is about fraternal boy girl twins, penned by a twin mom. Itā€™s written from the perspective of the twins and is a fun read.

  • Two is For Twins by Wendy Cheyette Lewison. They never say if the characters are boys or girls, but they read more masculine, which is great since identical twin boys arenā€™t seen as often in twin literature it seems. This board book celebrates the joys of being twins and is an all around amusing read.

  • Disney Growing Up Stories with Minnie Mouse: The Twins Take Turns by Editors of Phoenix International Publication. This is a newer addition to our bookshelf, which is why it didnā€™t make the photos in this post. It reads a little bit older than some of these I share, but in a good way. I like the message of sharing, plus it has a full page of stickers! There is also a cameo of Huey, Dewey, and Louie, the triplet ducks, for all my parents of multiples / triplets!

*bonus The Invisible String by Patrice Karst. It isnā€™t a book about twins, but the twins are the main characters, so I had to list this one too! Itā€™s really sweet book about being connected to the ones we love.

**bonus Devin & Evan Sleep From 8-7: Teaching Children the Importance of Sleep by Whitney Roban Ph.D. This book has identical twin boys! It flirts on the line of comparing twins, but it is really comparing one getting good sleep vs , not getting good sleep. In the end, they both get good sleep, so no worries there! I like this for helping teach about sleep, especially for those toddler sleep regressions. I appreciate that it is written by a sleep specialist as well.

***bonus The Bitty Twins Use the Potty by American Girl. This didnā€™t make the list because I donā€™t think it is in print anymore. I accidentally found it online and purchased one. We are potty training right now, so I had to snatch it up.

****bonus Little Blue Truckā€™s Springtime by Alice Schertle is 100% not a twin book, but there are twin lambs in it. I love a good call out, so I had to mention :)

Did I leave off your favorite? Let me know so I can grab it for my twinnies and give it a review!! Iā€™m always looking for books for our shelf. It is one of our favorite ways to spend time together.
