I wish the post was scratch and sniff, because if it could be, I'd be spraying that Abercrombie and Fitch cologne everywhere. 90's kids do you smell it? Smells like teen spirit! If you're late to this series, you can catch up by reading Part 1.
So as you can guess, this post is about Abercrombie and Fitch. Before I dig in, I want to start with some history! A&F was founded in the late 1800s and began as an upscale sporting goods store, specializing in fishing goods. What?! Fast forward to the 90's and early 2000's and it was a store known for its racy ads and graphic tees.
I was never actually allowed to shop at Abercrombie! I remember that one Easter, my uncle got my sister and I an Abercrombie and Fitch gift card. My mom was so mad at him! I got this super cute white mini skirt, with blue stripes. I don't think I wanted to wash it for several weeks, because of the scent.
If you walk into an A&F store today, everything has pretty much changed, except the overwhelming scent. I'm not sure how I loved it as a kid, because I swear I was in there for 15 minutes and I got a headache. Does that mean I'm getting old? Anyway, their marketing has completely changed. They are still the same black and white, Cali feel, but everyone has clothes on. Smiles replaced smizes and there aren't any V muscles to be found! Yes there are still graphic tees, but there aren't any of them that say "I'm searching for treasure, can I view your chest?". Get what I'm saying? They have trends that are on point and prices that are good too. If you followed my last post, then you know that I mentioned stocks. A&F's stock is on the rise as well. I really like the update this company did and think they can succeed.
