You know those days when you are running late and just don't want to have to *think* about your outfit? Or maybe you're looking for something to take your outfit to the next level? I'm telling ya...the answer to both is a square scarf!

I know it's not a new trend at all, but as of the past 6 months, I have become obsessed with them. If anything, let's back it up to the 50's and 60's where the original trend came from. It resurfaced a couple of years ago with a vengeance. I know I'm supposed to be "trend forward", but I just couldn't bring myself to wear them back then. That's one thing you're sure to get from me...things I actually like and support! This shouldn't be a surprise to you, just felt like saying it. If I don't really like it, I'm not going to post about it.

"Easy chic" is my newly claimed mantra regarding getting dressed. I want to be able to effortlessly choose something to wear and often times that involves me reaching for classics like this denim dress. I love the look of the scarf paired with it! It just feels good. And when you feel good, you're generally more agreeable. Things just seem to go better, right?

When I'm shopping for square scarves, I typically turn to Madewell's amazing bandanas. I have a couple of their cotton ones, but I always find myself reaching for their silk scarves, because they just lay so well! I love them around my neck, like a headband, or even tied around my purse for some decoration. Madewell's are just pretty AND budget friendly. Such a good little gift too, if you need an idea for a friend. I can also usually find some good ones at Nordstrom, too; however, Madewell is my number 1!  Here's some that I'm loving right now. Just click the left and right arrows on the widget below. Simply click on an image to be taken to the direct link.

I also love the versatility of the scarf. Yes, you can wear it different ways, but I love that it can dress up a simple tee or shirt dress AND can perfectly accent a more sophisticated outfit for work or even a party. What's your favorite way to wear them?? They are for sure a chic way to keep the hair off of your neck this summer!

I think eventually I'll invest in a couple scarves. If I wasn't on such a tight budget right now, I'd for sure pick up this Alexander McQueen scarf that's on sale! If you want a mid-tier priced scarf, I'd turn to Cuyana. Their products are awesome. Honestly, I reallllly want an Hermes scarf too. I don't care if it's old or new, I just think it would be a fun collector's piece to have. I have really fond memories of playing with my mom and grandmas' scarves, along with my sister, so it has kind of come full circle!

Thank you so much for reading!!

XOXO Lauren
