This trip feels like AGES ago. It was right after 4th of July, so I guess it was almost 2 months ago? I feel like summer has flown by in general! It's important to take time to relax, especially with friends! We took this group trip to Fredricksburg AND are heading to Oregon in a couple weeks with some besties.
I have been to Fredericksburg a couple of times, but never with a big group like this! Only with Nick + a girls trip. You can read my other posts here below. They outline where we stayed and what we did for those trips.
Fredericksburg Bachelorette Party
ANYWAY. Now time to outline this trip. Here's what we did this go around...things are a little bit different when you have a lot of people.
WHERE TO STAY:
We stayed at The Coral Door, which is a part of the the Colored Door Properties. It is super cute and the perfect little house. My sister actually recommended it to me, because she stayed there for a bachelorette party. They have a beautiful swinging bed, as if the house wasn't cute enough; It's close enough to main street, yet you still feel apart from the "city".
WHERE TO EAT:
The first night we arrived, we did kind of whatever for food, since everyone was arriving at different times. The next morning, we made a big breakfast at the house - there's a nearby HEB that is perfect for all of your grocer needs. For lunch, we happened to be at the wineries, so we grabbed lunch at Stout's Trattoria, which is the restaurant at Grape Creek. We had some of their pizzas and they were great. (Most wineries have little snacks, but not everyone has actual meals) That night we just made a big dinner at home for dinner, because it was just so cozy! The next day, we went and had breakfast at the Java Ranch Espresso Bar, which is on main street "in town".
WHAT WINERIES TO GO TO:
Nick and I can go to wineries all day and be perfectly fine, but not all people can. It's best to limit it to 2 or 3 when you're with a large group. We went to Becker Vineyards first and spent a couple hours there! It is honestly my favorite one to go to! Next we went to Grape Creek, which has changed a lot in the last couple of years to say the least. It was just a lot more "exclusive" feeling that I remember it and not in a good way...see my other posts if you want more recommendations.
WHAT TO DO:
I guess I should have called this what to do besides wineries... Main Street is always fun. It closes up earlier that what you'd think, but still is relaxing and pretty cute! We went to the Fredericksburg Brewing Company, which has several beers and bar type food, if that's what you like. There's a ton of nature surrounding Fredericksburg, so that's another thing to do. Hiking Enchanted Rock is a fan favorite - I'd suggest doing it on your way in or out of town. It's fun and the sights are pretty! You'll have to pay to enter but it is a state park, so the money goes to maintain it. Another cool thing that I hadn't done before is visit Luckenbach! It's a must go for any honkey tonk lovers, but it is a good time for anyone. There's usually live music where you can sit and listen too. My favorite part is that they have pet cats - not a lot if you don't like felines;) just a couple! I could have hung out with them all day!
Have you ever been to Fredericksburg? What's your favorite thing to do as a group? I'm sure we'll be back;)
