A couple of months ago, Christina Kober Designs contacted me to see if I wanted to collaborate, regarding some of her pieces. Before working with a brand, I research them from top to bottom...just to make sure we (and you guys, my readers!!) are compatible. Besides the fact that I think we would be best friends (hello, she likes well crafted puns, wine and cats!!), I was absolutely stunned by her pieces and thought that y'all would enjoy them too! (you might recognize her fortune cookie necklace) Plus, I'm all for American made brands- her entire team is here in the U.S.A. and that makes me so happy. She has several different pieces, but the one that stood out to me was the double adjustable message ring that stated "choose joy"...after seeing that pieces I said absolutely!
"Choose Joy" is the mantra that my sister and I have deemed to be our life statement. Happiness is how you feel based on your interactions, surroundings, and occurrences. It is temporary. Joy is an attitude of the heart - your outlook on life, no matter the circumstance. You may not be happy with an outcome, but you can always choose joy. Life is too short not to.
I love this phrase so much, I've considered getting a tattoo of "choose joy". You know, cute sister tattoos! Emma would for sure be down, I'm just not sold on it... where would I put it? I would always want to see it, so I could be reminded, but would want other people to be able to see it to, to spark conversation. That thought led me to cross out my Mandy Moore A Walk to Remember butterfly tattoo location... What font would I get it in? I know there are tattoo designers out there, but would that be special? I have actually considered getting "choose joy" in Greek, which would also pay homage to my Greek husband. Can you tell that I like for tattoos to mean something?! Anyway, I clearly can't decide, which is half of my problem. Part 1 - it's forever!! I have to make sure I like it. Part 2 - I hate needles. I will for sure get clammy and be swimming in a pool of sweat on the tattoo chair and/or pass out. I digress... Right now I'll stick to my Christina Kober ring and post it note of the phrase on my desk.
If you like the idea behind CK jewelry, but midi rings or maybe even rings in general aren't your thing, she has more to offer! For starters, my ring comes with more phrases, like "just breathe" or "love is louder", to name a few; however, you are also able to customize the phrase! There's also a single adjustable ring (only one bar instead of two).
Above are some of my favorite styles! You'll need to check out her website, because these photos don't do them justice. They style them so well! For example, the tassel on the right is actually styled in the back, with an open-back dress. Also keep in mind that a lot of her rings are styled both as midi rings and/or normal fit rings. Just choose the size you want for the fit you desire! My sister and I are both wearing smalls in the double adjustable, for a midi ring fit. If silver isn't your thing, you can get all the designs in yellow gold or rose gold, as well! There are so many different combinations and options, I feel like I'm at the sonic drink menu! But really, you're bound to find something for yourself and/or a friend! Maybe you want to get you and your bestie something that coordinates! I think the personalized options would make great bridal shower gifts! Maybe the couples names or initials...maybe the wedding date?! Same for baby showers - the baby's name/birthday would be so cute on there!
