If you know me personally, or remember these blog posts ( White Hot, John Linen or How to Wear White in the Winter), then you're probably like OMG. Did hell freeze? Lauren is wearing white before Easter. Well, friends. I am technically wearing white, but I only did for this shoot. I don't plan on wearing true white until after Easter, as per usual.
Last spring/summer, the little black dress was kind of shoved to the side and the LWD (little white dress) entered the season with a bang. This year, it's still a white hot trend and I am def on board. I can't lie. Last summer, I was like no thanks. I love my LBD; however, I was wrong! At the end of last year, I knew that Nick and I would get engaged relatively soon, so everything that was white kept catching my eye. Let's just say that becoming a bride-to-be has changed my mind. I have to actually pull myself away from so much white!
I used to shy away from bright white, and just stick to creams and such; however, I now choose to wear the true hue. I've found that if the apparel has some sort of texture, it gives depth, which helps me not look like a blob of Elmer's glue.
White typically has a bad rap of being unflattering on, especially versus it's even twin, black. I've found that this is more of a myth than truth...the key is to dress yourself by your body type. I rounded up some of my favorite white dress, including style for every body type and all under $150!
P.S. If you are a bride to be, looking for tips and other outfit inspiration, here's a blog post I did on what to wear to a bridal shower: bride edition!
Do you wear LWDs? What's your favorite silhouette?
