Hello MAY! I canā€™t believe April is over. I know I say that every month, but I honestly canā€™t believe shelter-in-place lasted for the entire month. Here in California, we are looking at the entire month of May too. Most days I donā€™t even leave the house, except to maybe take Dino out if Nick canā€™t. I know that when this is all over, weā€™ll look back on this time and miss certain thingsā€¦ togetherness, cooking with each other, a full nightā€™s sleep. It sounds silly to say right now, but it is something I have been thinking out. What is the first thing you will do when it is over? What will you miss the most?

On a less deep level, letā€™s talk about food. We have baking bread and it is both the best and the worst thing. Hah! I spoke about tips for baking bread here. Our favorite things to make for meals are patty melts and pizza. Reallllly original, I know. I also canā€™t stop making this salad, because it is SO GOOD. Iā€™ve made it with the cheese, but honestly like it best without it.

Okay besides all those carbs I mentioned above, here are some of my recent favorite things. ENJOY!

  1. Zella Sports Bra. Lately all I have been wearing are sports bras. While I like higher end fitness wear, Iā€™m also keen on finding more budget friendly options work just fine! Zella is a private label activewear brand that Nordstrom sells. Nick has a couple of their pieces too and we are always really happy with them!

  2. Kendra Scott Pepper Hoop Earrings (c/o). I love a good statement earring! These are fun and trendy, yet sleek and elevated, so they can dress a look up. Not to mention that they pretty much go with everything!

  3. Hip Optical Batista Sunglasses (c/o). I love wearing hats, but my oversized sunglasses bump against their brim. I love these small frames in general, but especially with my hats! Get $10 off with discount code ELLE10. Read my review of the glasses here.

  4. Primally Pure Baby Balm (c/o). Primally Pure sent this to me, since we are all washing our hands more often and this can lead to cracked / dry hands. It is made for babies but actually has a lot of other uses! It is completely unscented, but mimics the consistency of their fantastic body butter. Iā€™ve been using it on my hands and chest, but also under my eyes as an eye cream! Detailed blog post on this to come, but it has marshmallow root, which is great for soothing skin. Try it for 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.

  5. Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel. This is one of my favorite face masks and I just realized that I never shared it on a Favorites post! If Iā€™m not using my Primally Pure face masks, then I am using this one. It is great as it has both AHA and BHA, which can help with black heads, clogged pores, and more! Read more about these type of ā€œat home acidsā€ that mimic that of a professional light chemical peel. BONUS, it also comes in a sensitive skin option and a pregnancy safe option.

  6. Everlane GoWeave Slip Dress. This is my current favorite thing to wear when I actually want to dress up / wear something besides leggings. It is so easy to throw on, doesnā€™t really wrinkle, and is budget friendly too. Iā€™m wearing it here.

  7. Billie Razor. Iā€™ve been testing razors since last year and this is the one I landed on! My favorite part is that they ship and you never have to think about it. I also really like the charcoal lubrastrip! Read my review of all the razors here.

  8. Billie Shaving Cream. I didnā€™t try this out when I first bought the razor and I regret it, as the razor works best with its shaving cream! EWG rates it a 1 and it smells so yummy. Clean beauty that actually works!

  9. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. This is the latest book Iā€™ve read and I really enjoyed it. I typically like learning and non-fiction books, but lately I just want a story to take me out of everyday life. Fair warning, it made me sob, but I loved the story of friendship. I canā€™t wait to read the second book in the two part series! ALSO, they are making it a show on Netflix. It is set to release sometime this year.

  10. Lodge Cast Iron Skillet. We have been using our cast iron skillet nonstop during this quarantine! We typically use it to sear meat, but in the last couple of months, we have been using it for bread and pizza. SO GOOD. I wrote all about cast iron skillets and how to care for them here.
