May is here and I can finally breathe! My sisterās wedding is over and while I do have some loose ends to tie up from it, the bulk of my work is done! It was a beautiful wedding and Iām so happy for them. We have three more family weddings in the next three months, so our duties arenāt over yet this year, but we have a lot less work to put in. Hereās to summer coming and lots of fun! I know summer wonāt be here for a little less than 2 months, but Iām excited for it.
Last summer in LA I was pregnant and couldnāt really do much and the summer before everything was shut down. Hereās to exploring the city and introducing the twins to lots of new things. While we are waiting for summer to shine our way, here are some of my recent favorite things. It is a good mix of fashion, beauty, home, and baby. Everything is linked in the collage and below. I hope you enjoy it!
Jane Iredale PurePressed Powder. (c/o) I like to use this on everyday makeup! It blends well and has a touch of SPF. The only somewhat annoying thing is that you need to buy the compact. It is $20 but fits other products so you can use it for other items if youād like. They sell the powder as refills, but it is under $50 and you donāt have to re-buy the compact. If you had to buy a new one each time, it would likely be over $50, so it is less money in the long run. Itās actually pretty genius on the brand side, as they donāt have to get rid of the compacts if there is a selling issue. I use the color Bisque.
Canopy Humidifier. I first heard about this from The Skinny Confidential and was like yeah, yeah, yeah, Iām fine with mine that was under $50 off Amazon. Fast forward a couple years and I had to just throw it away it was so gross. This one can be cleaned in the dishwasher and has a subscription option for filters. I never have to think about remembering to order and its arrival signals me to clean it in the dishwasher. Iāve been using it for about 4 months now and really like it. My only beef with it is that I wish it was bigger / lasted longer before needing to refill it. If youāre into scents, they have scent options you can use with it too!
Madewell Striped Ringer Tee. Iām really into comfy basics that feel a little bit beyond basics if that makes sense. This t-shirt goes with most things and says more than a plain white t-shirt. Donāt get me wrong, I love a good white t-shirt, but this packs a little more punch and is only $24.50.
NYX Tinted Brow Mascara. I know I donāt use a ton of drug story makeup, but it isnāt because Iām above it. It is more so about ingredients. While I gravitate towards brands that follow my preferences throughout their entire line, there are a lot of brands that have good products here and there, NYX being one of them. I used to use their brow gel, but this brow mascara is easier to apply. Both products are under $10 though! The Environmental Working Group (EWG) rates this a 2 and I try to stay in a 1 or 2 rating. I use the shade Chocolate.
Lovevery Play Gym. (c/o) Iām planning to share a video soon of this more in action, but it is the best play mat!! It works when they are younger for tummy time, but they will play with it for a while, even after they donāt really do tummy time anymore. It is also large enough to fit both of my babies / you donāt need two.
Blueland Toilet Cleaner. Is it weird to say these make me excited to clean my toilets? They are basically like a bath bomb for your bathroom. Can they please make a bathtub cleaner or perhaps I can just use these there? Iāve never tried any of their other products, but if they work as well as the toilet cleaner, they are gold.
Follain Resurfacing Body Scrub. (c/o) Whether you need a good pre-spray tan scrub or just need to exfoliate some bacne, this is amazing. I like to use it pre-shave on my legs for an extra close shave. It makes the back of my arms soft too.
House of Noa Play Mat. Once the twins were rolling over and showing signs of crawling, we became very aware of how hard the floor is. We have the Gathre Mini Playmat, but wanted something bigger. They do have larger sizes, but we wanted something a bit more sturdy. This foam mats are amazing and totally worth the price. No crazy odors or dyes, plus they are beautiful. We have the Adilah mat in Skipping Stone, but they have tons of colors and patterns. We purchased the 4x8 size and it works great for their nursery. We have brought it downstairs when had baby playdates and it moves well. I could see us buying more to add on in the future. I really want to try their kitchen mats next.
Agolde Longer Length Parker Shorts. I traded out my short shorts for mom shorts. I never thought I would, but here we are. They are the Agoldes you know and love, just a little bit longer! I bought my regular size. Iām not sure if I should have gone up a size because they sit a little higher or it is just my postpartum body. Either way, Iām keeping my regular size because I think otherwise they would stretch out and be a little baggy.
ASTR Gaia Dress. I bought this for my sisterās bridal brunch and plan to wear it for an upcoming wedding. I am nothing short of obsessed with it! It makes me feel pretty and doesnāt break the bank as it is right under $100. Honestly I want it in green and pink too! I tried the S and the M, but ended up keeping the small. I like to wear this shapewear under it, though Iām trying out this to see if I like it better.
