One major revelation for me during this year has been that not only am I changing styles, but Iā€™m also changing sizes in clothes. No I didnā€™t really lose or gain wait for this change (though I have lost weight thanks to getting my Ulcerative Colitis in check.) This is more about the fact that Iā€™ve been wearing the wrong size of clothing for a while. I spoke a little bit about this body dysmorphia here. All that to say, my mental style shift has come at the right time. Iā€™m re-vamping my wardrobe and getting the right size this time around.

I donā€™t know if it is the pandemic, living in LA, or what; however, I love a good jeans and t-shirt combo as of late. Itā€™s what Iā€™m wearing right now and what I often reach for. I had a ton of jeans, but got rid of them this summer to make room for items I actually loved and ones that fit well. Iā€™m adding to my wardrobe slowly, but surely. A brand that stood out to me during my (ongoing) style quest was Mott and Bow.

Mott and Bow actually reached out to me and Iā€™m so glad they did. Iā€™m writing about them today because I love the mission and the product. Mott and Bow was founded by Alejandro Chahin in 2014. His family started a denim manufacturing company in Honduras when he was growing up, so he is no stranger to the business. His dream began with a desire to shift the price equals quality mentality and was achieved when Mott and Bow was created. He still uses his family own facility to produce higher quality jeans at a lower price point.

Mott and Bow jeans range from $96 to $128. The jeans Iā€™m wearing ring in at $118. I know that is still high, but when you compare to other premium jeans, those typically start around $150 to $200, if not higher. Keep reading for some reasons to check out their products.

WHY MOTT AND BOW

  • Family owned. Not only are you supporting a family business, but you are buying handcrafted, premium jeans at a lower price.

  • Great quality. These fit right in with my other premium denim and again, they are less money! Also, these are the nicest pair of jeans Nick owns!

  • Fit range. Womenā€™s jeans are offered in sizes 24 - 32 (even odd sizes) and inseams 28 - 30 - 32. Menā€™s jeans come in sizes 28 - 38, 40, 42 , inseams 30 - 32 -34, and fits strait slim and skinny. Womenā€™s also has different silhouettes such as slim boyfriend, mid-rise skinny, high-rise skinny, and the mom jean.

  • Easy / Convenient. Denim sizing can be tough, especially with brand you havenā€™t tried before. Mott and Bow has a free At Home Try-On program where you can get 2 pairs of jeans and ship the one that didnā€™t fit well back with a return label, free of charge! Nick and I utilized this. I actually sized down from my original pair and he sized up! I wear a 26 in Madewell, Frame, etc, but ended up going to a 25. I am wearing a 28 inseam. Nick typically wears a 34 in Mavi, Revtown, and others, but sized up to a 35 in these. I will say that Mot and Bow jeans has less stretch than he is used to, so that is probably why! He wears a 30 inseam for a shorter look.

  • Full line. Yes they have a style for everyoneā€™s jean taste, but they also have shirts! I love this striped t-shirt. Not only is it cute, but can be dressed up or down. So versatile! Nick got this super cute henley tee. The buttons make it more than just a t-shirt, plus it is a great layering piece. Both tees are under $50 and make for great basics!
