I feel like I need to start this post out with an apology, because I actually forgot to formally review Primally Pureās Soothing + CBD Face Mask. It didnāt roll out with the initial face masks (which I reviewed here) and then I kind of just forgot to share it here on the blog. It all works out in your favor though, because January is national CBD month and Primally Pure is granting free shipping on every order to celebrate! The last day this works is January 31, 2021. You can also use my discount code ELLEMULENOS and get 10% off too - no expiration date!
A little back story is that Primally Pure launched their face masks at the beginning of 2020 and due to regulation issues with hemp, the CBD portions of their line were postponed. The face masks all coordinate with a skin specific serum - clarifying, plumping, and soothing. The soothing part of the line was supposed to have CBD, but they just pivoted and created it sans CBD. Now we have both a regular soothing line and a CBD soothing line, so thereās something for everyone! I actually reviewed their CBD Soothing Serum here.
I spoke all about the benefits of CBD for skin here, but the headline is that CBD decreases inflammation and has tons of vitamins and minerals that benefit your skin. That being said, are the details about the Primally Pureās Soothing + CBD Face Mask. Enjoy!
TEXTURE: All Primally Pure masks have a base of raw honey, which makes them thick and luxurious. It also means that your skin will remain moisturized / wonāt be stripped, which often occurs with other masks, especially when they have clay in them.
SMELL: The scent is woodsy. Though it isnāt my favorite PP scent, I donāt mind it / it doesnāt bother me. And Iām only comparing it to the plumping and clarifying mask which honestly smell good enough to eat. I have to compliment PP though, because none of their CBD products have an overwhelming marijuana smell to them, which is what I have experienced from other CBD products and brands.
KEY INGREDIENTS:
Honey to promote healing and moisturizing, in addition to being an anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory compound
Spirulina to promote cell restoration, reduce redness, and detoxify the skin
Chlorella to promote healthy cell function thanks to vitamins A, B, C, D, and E
Colloidal Oatmeal promotes gentle healing by creating a protective barrier, especially great for sensitivities like psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema
Green Clay and White Kaolin Clay promotes detoxification, while calming skin and balancing inflammation and pH levels
Lactobacillus Ferment promotes hydration, while being a probiotic and a natural antimicrobial
Full Spectrum CBD Oil** promotes collagen production and relieves pain, in addition to decreasing dead skin build up, which tends to causes breakouts and acne
**Note that the regular soothing mask is literally the same exact formula, just without the hemp seed oil and the CBD.
WHY I LIKE IT: CBD is so great for acne and that is probably why I like this mask so much. I also enjoy using this, because it reduces redness, which is a big problem for my skin currently due to acne and scarring. 10/10, would recommend!
Primally Pure Face Masks are honestly my favorite!! I use a couple other brands for different kinds of treatments, but my most used are these, because they are so healing and work so well. If you are looking for a restorative mask that can relieve redness, while expediting healing, to support and balance stressed and damaged, youāve got to try the Soothing CBD Mask. Donāt forget to use code ELLEMULENOS for 10% off. If you are interested in trying the other masks, I love to use the clarifying mask for spot treatments and the plumping mask for an overall glow.
Pro tip: Use this mask right after your shower or steam your face, so your pores are open. Makes sure your face is a little damp, but not 100% wet and this will allow the mask to spread more easily. I like to use a mask spatula, but you can totally use your hands to spread it. This mask will not dry / cake up on your skin, but has the possibility of slowly dripping if you put it on too thick. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes - I typically like to have it on for about an hour. When you take it off, rub the mask into your face and benefit from the manual exfoliation too!
