If you are in the fashion world at all, then you have probably heard of Trunk Club. We are actually lucky enough to have an HQ here in Dallas. It's in Deep Ellum and is really cool, like the rest of that area of the city.

Until fairly recently, you would only associate Trunk Club with menswear. I mean, that's what it started out as! You would obtain a rep and they would curate a trunk to be shipped to you. (as often as you wanted.) You then would decide what you wanted to keep, and only be charged for those items and send the remaining back. If you're local, you are also able to visit their HQ to get fitted. The Dallas one has concrete floors, exposed brick, leather...you get the picture. Oh, and did I mention that they have a bar?

Anyway, it was founded, because most guys are just different shoppers than women. Whether they don't have any time, or just don't make time because they don't like it, it was a way to shop at ease. Trunk Club soon realized that men weren't the only ones on the go, so they decided to create it for women, as well. You'd think it would be hard to expand it to women's apparel, but since it is founded by Nordstrom, it's a trusted source. (This is the main issue I have with other similar services-I don't know the brand or quality, so it's harder for me to pay for it.)

Trunk Club for Women is as awesome as it sounds. I briefly filled out a survey from my rep, which helps them curate my perfect trunk! It shipped in seriously the cutest little trunk and was so nice and neat. (I just wish I could have mailed it back to them as cute!)  I linked every item above + in widgets at the bottom of the post, but I'm going to go through my products and tell you my thoughts and if I kept them! So, here we go.

Ā

Kate Spade Flavor of the Month Tote. Okay, so I love Kate Spade. She has been one of my favorite designers, since I was young. I loved the frivolity of this bag - it makes for cute photos and is obviously sturdy, but I'm not really in the market to buy a trendy purse. I am hoping to buy another staple bag soon, so I didn't want to spend money on this one. The Kate Spade handbags I do have, are solid colors and can go with anything. This bag would only be good for spring and summer, and would probably be out of style, come fall. If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive, fun bag, that is also reliable, then Kate Spade is your girl. I would recommend this one!

Tory Burch Lowell Sandal. If you have read this post, then you know why I love Tory Burch. These sandals are seriously so pretty and so on trend - they have the block heel, which I mentioned on my Top 10 Spring Trends List. I would have loved to keep these, but I really couldn't budget it this month. They pare I received were nude and went with everything, so I could kind of see splurging for them, but couldn't bring myself to. If you're on the lookout for a good nude sandal, I recommend these! I think my next shoe purchase will either be a statement heel or a nude strappy high heeled-sandal.

Rag & Bone Low-Rise Skinnies. I have a thing for dark skinny jeans, so I immediately fell in love with these. Currently, I have these Fidelity Jeans on repeat (you probably noticed), so I knew I could stand to get another pair, so they don't wear out too quickly. Rag & Bone doesn't have the cheapest of products, but they have good quality, and I'm willing to pay more for my jeans, than other items. These just had one flaw...no front pockets. They have what looks like front pockets, but they are purely there for aesthetic value. I actually use my front pockets, so this was a deal breaker, otherwise, I would have purchased them.

Kendra Scott Caroline Earrings. I love Kendra Scott. I have actually met her before, which made me fall even more in love with her brand, because she is so sweet! The ones they picked out for me, were gorgeous, but I just didn't see a need for them. I wish they had been a brighter color, instead of muted. I would have probably purchased them, if they had been more bright teal, instead of smoky. If someone gifted me with them, I would definitely keep them, just wasn't something I could justify as need for at this time.

Vince Scoop Neck Cashmere Top. Let me start out by saying that I love Vince and I love cashmere...but it is mid spring, in Texas. Everything about this piece was phenomenal. The nutty hue I had went with everything, and the silhouette fit perfectly. If I lived somewhere where it was colder, more frequently, I would have splurged, but I don't. Cashmere costs a pretty penny (and is worth it), I just can't spend that much on cashmere, this time of year.

Vince Sleeveless Wrap Vest. See above for my feelings about Vince (haha). This piece is so unique and so fun, but I have trouble spending on such trendy items. I loved how it fit, as well as the creme coloring; however, it probably looks best with cream pants - the only time you'll see me in all white besides my wedding day, is if I have a white sundress on, and even then, you might confuse my pale legs, with pants;) If I had to dress more business-like for work, it would have been a good buy; however, I could literally wear a Cowboys sweatshirt to work everyday if I wanted to, and call it a day.

Ted Baker Skirt. This skirt screams spring and for that, I love it. It fits great and is cute on, but I felt like I could get a cheaper version, with just as good quality, elsewhere. Don't get me wrong. Ted Baker is a great brand, I would just shop for a similar skirt elsewhere.

Joie Airlan Tank. What makes this top great, is that it is classic, yet trendy. The tank style fits great and is perfect for summer, but also has tassels, that help it have a little bit more of a trendy vibe. When I tried this on, I was like "I'm keeping this!"; however, I looked at the price tag and realized it was silk. I don't really have a need for silk and would rather buy a cheaper, rayon version. I will say that the silk added to the perfect weight and silhouette, so if you can afford it, I'd say it is a very good investment buy and you'd get a lot of use out of it!

Caslon Dolman Top. This top is very much my style. If I had a current "uniform", it would be a PIKO top and jeans. It was one of those that looked good on a hanger, but when I put it on, the silhouette was off. It made me look bigger than I was, because the dolman sleeve went a little longer than most, which added bulk. Super cute shirt, just needs to work on its fit.

Treasure and Bond Boyfriend Jeans. I prefer dark denim over light denim; however, I decided to give these a try. I didn't think I'd like them, because I typically prefer light denim to be distressed, but thought what the heck, why not. I don't know if this brand runs really big or if they were just supposed to be that baggy, but they were way to big for me. They fell off of me, even when they were buttoned! I typically wear a 29 and that's what these were, but they felt more like a 32 or 34. HUGE on me. I didn't want them from the beginning, but this confirmed my decision.

Hinge Kasbah Cape. I loved this piece. It could have an outfit styled around it, or just be something that you stuff in your purse, in case it gets cold. In my opinion, this was the most practical item sent to me, so that's probably why I ended up buying it.

TopShop Sweater. Let's be real. If I was interested in buying a sweater, then I would have bought the Vince one. This was pretty and well made, but it was just kind of "okay" in my opinion. Red is such a harsh color, I don't wear it that often, so I might have been more inclined to buy it, if another color was available.

Imanimo Dress. This was definitely an "eh" for me. I didn't love the print and I really didn't love it on. I have a long torso and this just kind of engulfed me. I didn't like that the yoke and bodice  met above my breast bone. I typically like to accent my waist and with this piece, I was pretty much swallowed up in it.

Spanx Power Short. I was a bit confused by this add to my trunk. I have nothing against Spanx (they were actually created by a Tri Delta! I am a proud DDD;) ) - I have actually worn them before; however, there wasn't anything in my box that really needed squeezing in for. I wasn't offended by the inclusion of it - just a little confused.

Pleione V Neck Top . This top was a pretty, basic casual top.  I probably would have purchased it, had it come in one of its other colors, specifically Blue Amparo, Burgandy London, or Olive Tarmac. I didn't hate it - it just didn't do much for me.

Ā

So, I sent everything back, but the Hinge Kasbah Cape. The sendoff is probably where I was most impressed with Trunk Club. Not only do they include a return label for you, but they also send these cute little pieces of tape, to seal it with! Additionally, they coordinate a UPS pickup, so you don't even have to worry about it. Trunk Club was seriously made for our go-go-go culture.

Overall, I think Trunk Club is an amazing service. Personally, I get stuck in style ruts, where I wear the same type of thing, over and over. I love it when someone else picks something out for me that I usually wouldn't wear. It helps me expand and evolve my style. I will definitely be trying the service again. I shot a couple looks with the pieces I didn't keep and can't wait to share them with you!
