Not to jump the gun or anything, but Halloween is over and November is here, so bring in all the woodsy and pepperminty scents! I do enjoy pumpkin, All Hallow’s Eve and the build up of fall, but it is the the holiday feeling in the last couple of months in the year that are super nostalgic for me. Like most people, the smells take me back in an instant!

Scents are still something I try to incorporate in our home; in fact, I think they are an easy way to make your space feel ready for the upcoming season without bring out tubs of decorations and spending hours putting them up. I’m currently trying to convince my husband we don’t need to buy a Christmas tree this year… We will be gone for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it will really only be up 2 weeks. Is that worth all the money and work? I’m not so sure. Honestly I can just diffuse NOW® Woodland Walk Essential Oil and it will smell like we have one for a fraction of the price and zero of the cleanup.

I started getting into essential oils about the same time I started getting rid of synthetic fragrances in my life. I love a good holiday candle, but let’s face it. Most holiday candles aren’t that great for you. If you’re wondering what I mean, I spoke about the dangers of candles + their ingredients here. I still love a nice clean-burning candle, but most days I reach for essential oils. Not only do they provide a wonderful scent, but they often have a longer life than candles AND they are cheaper. Win-win in my book!

I buy most of my essential oils (among other things) from NOW®. I first started purchasing from them over 2 years ago when fell for their wide assortment of nuts and seeds. I am constantly stocking up on these items, in addition to buying supplements. I LOVE their magnesium. I haven’t tried their maca yet, but it is on my list too. Of all those things, Essential oils are probably my favorite thing to buy from NOW®. They are great quality, budget friendly, and smell so good! I buy the biggest bottle of Lavender I can, as I use that in diffusers each night, on my dryer balls, and on my wrists before I practice yoga.

So what blends can you use this time of year to help get ready for the season? I’m glad you inquired, because NOW® released some scents that are perfect for right now. They produced seasonal Woodland Walk Essential Oil and Candy Cane Essential Oil that will for sure get you in the holiday spirit. The woodland walk has notes of pine needle, cedar, juniper berry, frankincense, and myrrh. Candy cane takes their already amazing peppermint oil and blends it with vanilla for a sweet, yet minty fragrance. They are both great, but if I had to pick one, I’d go for Woodland Walk. I’ve always been more drawn to woodsy scents and this one fits the bill. I actually keep NOW® Pine Needle, Clove, and Tangerine on hand year-round to make my own little woodsy essential oil blend. I also like to blend Clove and Lavender during other seasons for a lighter, yet still spicy scent. Honestly, the options are ENDLESS. Oh and these are just a few things that NOW® offers. Be sure to check out all of their amazing product lines. There is something for everyone!
