Buttering up my Mother-in-Law ft. JaM Cellars

May is in full swing friends, which means two things... 1) it's officially white wine season and 2) Mother's Day is right around the corner! To be honest, I'm a connoisseur of red wine for half of the year...fall and winter; however, when spring and summer hit, I'm like GIVE ME ALL THE CRISP WHITES. I live in Texas after all...If you're not from around here, we just had a "cold front" for the month of May, meaning that it was 57 degrees when you woke up. There's some perspective for you!
Speaking of not being around here...my husband is originally from California and his parents still live there. We don't get to see them near as often as we'd like to, but thank goodness for technology like voice messages and face time! The first time I have "met" Nick's mom was actually on face time! I think we had only been dating a month or two and not yet #official yet. He had invited me over to his house for dinner and upon arrival, he was facetiming his mom on his Apple TV. I was super embarrassed. It's awkward enough meeting the parents of who you're dating for the first time, but for the most part you can mentally prepare for it. I quite literally walked into it unprepared! Buuuut it worked out for the best;)
I was really sad that we couldn't be there for our first Mother's Day together, but I think I made it up to her with JaM Cellars Butter Chardonnay! She's typically a red drinker, and loved this as well! It's always a great day when a wine can get you out of your comfort zone. In addition to this yummy (super oaky!) chard, JaM Cellars makes a JaM Cabernet, and a Toast Sparkeling...so, there is definitely something for everyone!
JaM Cellars has good wine, but they have an even better story! It was created by John and Michele, hence the "J" and "M" in the name :) They are second generation vintners in Napa and create wine in a style that makes it approachable and easy to enjoy. Best of all you can grab it for under $20. That's quite a steal, since they won a gold medal at the SF Chronicle Wine Competition this past January!
You don't have to spend a ton to thank your mom (or grandma or mother figure!) this holiday...just grab a bottle of JaM Chardonnay and butter her up! Spend time with her whether that means it's on the phone or at your kitchen table. Letting her know you appreciate her is what is truly important. Give your moms a hug for me, y'all!
