The first day of summer was yesterday, June 20th. Let the fun commence! I feel like I just wrote my spring skincare update, but that is probably because I pretty much stayed in bed all season. I suppose it wasnāt much different for me in comparison to spring 2020 where we stayed inside for the entirety of spring. That being said, I didnāt do much, but I also did a ton since Iām pregnant with twins! While this skincare update will obviously be catered to me being pregnant, it wonāt be only about that. The bulk of my skincare regimen was already pregnancy safe, so there really isnāt much of change. I do plan on doing a pregnancy skincare post, but later on down the line.

I havenāt really been trying any new products, so nothing crazy to report on there. Iām still taking collagen and recently wrote a review on the kind Iām taking here. Iāve took it all spring and noticed a big difference in my skinās brightness and elasticity. The newest additions to my routine have been for my belly, not my face! I have been using Now Foods Tamanu Oil, Primally Pure Body Butter, Primally Pure Baby Balm, and Eco by Naty Pregnancy Oil intermittently. Iāll do a post on that too! The other fun new tool I have is facial dry brush. Iāve been using my body dry brush on my legs to help with circulation, but I hadnāt tried it on my face before this spring. Loving it! Still using my humidifier on high, since it is peak fire season and the air is very dry. Overall, pregnancy has actually been very good for my skin and has seemed to help balance out my issues, but that is another topic for another day ;) Letās get to my actual products!
AM ROUTINE
Splash some water on my face, then dry it off and apply my acupuncturist cream on any trouble spots. I let this sit for 15 minutes.
One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser. I wash the cream from #1 off then proceed to wash my face with this OLO product. Sometimes I wash it twice with it, as I make sure to get the oily cream off entirely.
ICE. I did this a lot when my face was breaking out badly, then kind of stopped. I have began incorporating this back into my routine since I canāt do chemical peels right now and it helps lighten the scarring. I just grab an ice cube from the freezer and continually move it around my face for about 2 minutes, making sure to hit the troublesome spots extra. Donāt leave it on one spot for too long, or it will burn you. I have an ice roller, but use ice cubes to keep it clean and such. (per my esthetician.) I use my cute BKR ice trays!
Primally Pure Baby Balm (get 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS) on as a moisturizer. This is such a moisturizing and gentle formula! Itās made for babies, but I use this for my face!
Sunscreen. I donāt use this if Iām just sitting in my house; however, if I have plans to go outside, it goes on! Hats help too but should not be supplemented instead of sunscreen!
PM ROUTINE
One Love Organics Vitamin B Oil Cleanser. I only do this if I wore makeup or sunscreen that day, otherwise, I just use the foaming cleanser alone vs double cleansing. I also really like the Primally Pure cleansing oil as an option too! Try it for 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS.
One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser. Same as AM!
Corrective Skincare LA 5% Benzoyl Peroxide. It is an acne medication that helps with resurfacing. I use this every other night because I donāt want to dry my skin out too much. My OBGYN approved this and I am able to continue using this during pregnancy.
***OR***
Follain Brightening Serum. Still using this! I shared a review of it here, but it is more than just a vitamin c serum! I use this every other night and explain why in the review.
Primally Pure Baby Balm. On evenings where I use the benzyl peroxide, I just put this under my eyes and on my nose. After the brightening serum, I wait for it to dry, then put the Baby Balm all over my face. I did a whole review of it here.
EXTRAS:
Face masks. I use the Pregnancy Safe Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel once a week - usually Monday or Tuesday. After I wash it off, I cleanse my face, then apply Baby Balm and go to bed. I also try to use Primally Pure face masks once a week, usually around Thursday or Friday. I have all 3 and mix and match what I use. Lately Iāve been using the soothing everywhere but places Iām breaking out. I put the clarifying one on those troublesome patches, then leave on for an hour! Sometimes Iāll use product after them, but typically I will just wash them off, cleanse my face, then apply Baby Balm and go to bed. I reviewed all the masks here. Get 10% off with discount code ELLEMULENOS. For a more of a budget friendly mask option, use this one.
Facial Tools. My current favorite thing is my new facial dry brush. I use a gua sha stone and a jade roller.
Thatās all for now! I am thankfully getting regular facials again, which is so nice after I wasnāt really able to get them during the pandemic. It is so helpful to get extractions and prevent further blemishes. See ya next time! Who knows if the babies will be here for the first day of all or not. Hoping for last week of September or the first week of October.
