Iā€™ve been a fan of Goop, Gwyneth Paltrowā€™s beauty brand, for as long as I can remember. When they first launched in the late 00ā€™s, their store and branding was an elusive fever dream for me. I loved the idea of the brand as well as the products, but was a {broke} college student living in Waco, Texas. If you would have told me then that 10+ years down the line that I would be regularly using their products and living so close to that original brick and mortar that I could jog to it, I wouldnā€™t have believed you. I also would have laughed at your face if you told me Iā€™d be on their press list! So yes, they have sent me these products over the course of time, but they did not pay me for this post. Additionally, I have re-bought items myself.

Because their merchandise is on the pricier end, I thought it might be helpful to go through some of their collection and tell you what my favorite Goop products are. Sure, so you can make the best choice for your beauty cabinet and your wallet, but also so you can answer the ā€œbut does it workā€ question!

Keep reading to learn some of my favorite Goop products and why that sit in the front of my beauty cabinet.

  1. G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo. I have to start with this product because it was my first OMG moment. It is truly an amazing, detoxifying shampoo. I of course love the scent (very spa like, but not too strong - think orange, peppermint, rosemary essential oils), but it makes my hair so pretty and soft. No, not shiny, just not dull. Whether you use a lot of product or bathe in hard water, you inevitably collect build-up. While I want to use it each time I wash my hair, Iā€™ve found it works best once a week for me. For reference, I usually wash my hair twice a week. I scream that I love this product from the rooftops. I had one friend tell me ā€œoh yeah, I love it too!ā€ and I took it personally and asked why sheā€™d never mentioned it / was she gatekeeping it?! Hah! Side note - Iā€™m not sure if they discontinued it, but they used to have an 18ml travel sized tub. It would be a great way to test it out and/or keep in your dopp kit. Travel often brings about more toxins and it would be a great way to keep your hair healthy while youā€™re on the go. Check out a video of my hair after use here.

  2. Amino Acid Shinebath Conditioner. Yes, a Amino Acid Shinebath Shampoo exists as well and I do like it, but I LOVE the conditioner. Iā€™ve never had a conditioner that repaired and rehyrated my hair so well. It leaves my ends soft, but not greasy. I will often pair this with the G.Tox Shampoo. If youā€™d rather to buy this set together, you can buy the shampoo and conditioner in a pack together as well. I shared a video of them in use here.

  3. GOOPGLOW 15% Glycolic Acid Overnight Glow Peel. I avoided these for years just because of the price tag. It is suggested that you use them once weekly, but even that will run you $10 a pop. They come in a 12 pack or a 4 pack and while the 4 pack costs you less upfront, the pads them self will be a little more than $11 a piece. I was honestly so impressed with the pads. There is so much product on the pads / they arenā€™t dried out and it truly left my skin feeling soft. I woke up glowing the next day. Personally, I do not use them weekly just because of the price tag, but I do buy them to take on trips as they take up a lot less space than my other peel pads. Worth the buy if you can spend it. Perhaps get to to use before special events like your wedding or a big party.

  4. G.Tox Ultimate Dry Brush. I love dry brushing!! Iā€™ve been partaking in this {easy} morning ritual for about 5 years now. Iā€™ve tried a lot of dry brushes in my day and Goopā€™s is my favorite. Thereā€™s something about the handle? I donā€™t know, but it is good. Itā€™s also reasonably priced at $25. If youā€™re interested in dry brushing and/or learning the benefits, I wrote a post about it here.

  5. GOOPGLOW Afterglow Body Oil. During the summer I love to use a body oil instead of a body cream. This one has been my favorite as of late. I love that there is only a subtle (natural) scent and absorbs quickly and doesnā€™t leave me feeling greasy. I will say that it is slightly annoying that it isnā€™t a pump top, especially since it is in a glass jar, but you end up getting more product this way, so I suppose it works in my best interest.

I actually really like a lot more than 5 Goop products, but wanted to truly choose my favorite favorites / most used. To give you some more options, here are some honorable mentions:

  • Goop Candles. I love candles, but most have synthetic fragrances, which give me a headache. You never really know what is in the ā€œparfum,ā€ but it typically has all kinds of things that are endocrine disrupters. If you want to know more, I wrote about why you should care about fragrance in candles here.

  • GOOPGLOW Vita-C Brightening Eye Cream. I use this almost every morning regardless of if I wear makeup and on those no-makeup days I feel like it pulls me together and wakes me up.

  • GOOPGENES Clean Nourishing Lip Balm Trio Iā€™m not really a lipstick person; it kind of makes me feel like a clown. Lipglosses are fine, but they are often sticky. I like these because they are somewhere in-between the two and have the option for a kiss of color that is somewhat buildable. I have the clear / tomato / ebony kit, but you can also buy them in singles.

As far as new things go, I am currently testing out the GOOPGLOW Restore and Shine Hair Serum. Itā€™s a little tricky for me to remember because it needs to go on 20 minutes prior to washing your hair and Iā€™m used to using serums after washing my hair. Also I typically am coming from yoga or something like that and donā€™t really have 20 minutes to spare, though I suppose I could apply it prior to class?! If youā€™re on-the-go, grab this travel size for your carry-on or your gym bag. They also offer a duo with the G.Tox shampoo if you want to try both.

Next on my list to try is the GoopGlow Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator! Itā€™s not a new product, but Iā€™d love to see how it helps my skin texture. Iā€™ve also been patch testing the new Youth Boost Peptides Serum.

GOOPGLOW Afterglow Body Oil

Goop is on the nontoxic spectrum and is cruelty free, which are just two of the reasons why I love the brand. You can shop Goop products at Goop, Sephora, Credo, Amazon, and more. Do you have a favorite Goop Beauty product in your lineup? Let me know so I can be sure to try it!
