The Cutest Hotel on Lake Washington

If you follow me on any social media channel at all (Facebook, Instagram or SnapChat(ElleSpann) ), then you know that I have been talking about my Seattle trip, since I booked it, circa December 2015. I love going places I haven't been before, but I also love going places that have meaning. My fiance has a lot of family in Seattle and I had only ever met them over FaceTime. Additionally our wedding photographer, Heidi, recently made a move there, so why not go for engagement photos and get some actual family "face time" in? It really all made sense!
Trying to preserve as many vacation days as possible, we flew out Friday, after work. Arriving super late, a hotel just made more sense than having a family member trek to the airport. When looking for hotels, I always like to find special, boutique types, and The Woodmark Hotel, fit the bill.** Not only does it overlook the beautiful Lake Washington, but it seriously felt like a home away from home. It is nestled in a community of sorts, like a spin studio across the street, and restaurant on the bay. Let me pause, while we are talking about food.
Arriving late, or not, The Woodmark has a pantry for guests to raid at night! They had everything from scooby snacks, to Kashi granola bars, end even a piping hot, pot of chorizo soup. Did I say home away from home, yet? After an amazing night of rest, we ate at the Beach Cafe, and it certainly didn't disappoint. I consider myself a brunch connoisseur, so I judge pretty hard. Both of our plates were fabulous and kept us fueled until dinner time. Not joking!
While it felt homey, The Woodmark was anything but homely. It was beautifully erected from the common area, to my room. It seriously felt like a dream! The hotel is all around gorgeous, so it is no surprise that it is a popular wedding venue! When we were leaving, we actually witness the beginning of one. I know their pictures are going to be amazing! If you follow me on Instagram, then you remember this photo, from my window. I was only there for around 10 hours, and only in Washington for less than 96, but I know, without a doubt, that I'll be back to both. Oh, and next time, I'm going to the spa! Did I mention they had that and a yacht club? My kind of club, if you know what i mean ;)
