Sooo have yā€™all decorated for Christmas yet?! If you get my newsletter (you can sign up to be a Newsie here!) then you know Nick and I decorated for Christmas on Sunday, though our house is kind of still a mess of boxes and tubs. We flew in from Sacramento Sunday afternoon, then headed to Kajin Christmas Tree Farm to get our Christmas tree and take a Christmas card picture with my family!

Nick has always wanted to chop down his own Christmas tree, but I didnā€™t think anywhere near DFW and also I typically decorate before Thanksgiving so I can shoot blog photos. This year not only did a find the ā€œu-pickā€ of Christmas trees, but we also decorated later. As a blogger sometimes I feel pressure to get things perfectly ready and picture perfect for yā€™all and while I still like to get picture perfect, Iā€™m slowly learning to do whatā€™s best for me both mentally and physically. Working a 9-5 and blogging is no jokeeee! Iā€™ve been working on taking breaks and not getting burned out. So good so far; )

Okay so anyway back to Christmas treesā€¦ Kajin Christmas Tree Farm is located in Caddo Mills, so about 45 minutes from where we live in Dallas proper. They have Virginia Pine, Afghan Pine, Arizona Cypress and Red Cedar that you can cut down yourself! No need to bring supplies - they have everything you need. Sooo we actually got a fraser fir which is the only one you canā€™t cut (lol). They imported these from North Carolina because they grow better there. It was the one we wanted so we just went with it and posed with a saw just for fun ;) For a price reference, we bought a 9.5 footer and it was $155. We also bought garland -which they sell there too! They have cider and hot chocolate, along with the cutest little store, fresh popcorn, and fresh eggs! They ran out of eggs before we got there, but we would have 100% bought some if they still had them.

If you need a place to go to get a Christmas tree and maybe take some cute pictures, Kajin Christmas Tree Farm is your place! We will FIR sure be back;) Side note, they actually ship their to the DFW area (Dallas Metroplex, McKinney, Prosper, Royse City, Terrell, Wylie etc) If you just want to support a local business, we we didnā€™t chop down our own tree, we like to purchase them from Savvyā€™s Christmas Trees!

Have you ever chopped down your own tree?! Whatsā€™s your favorite spot to do it? I know my friend Heidi is partial to Oregon trees and ships hers from there every year. Let me know!! When we visited Apple Hill in Sacramento, they had cut your own trees there AND apple cider donuts which is my JAM. Wishing you a home that smells like pine, whether itā€™s a Christmas tree or a really good candle ;)
