It's the time of year where working out becomes even more imperative, because we are eating more, or at least more fatty items. I enjoy a good workout, but I hate the laundry that comes with it. I have at least twice as many things to wash, if not more! It's also annoying to pack when you go out of town. I'm already bit of an over packer, so give me one more "thing" to pack, and my suitcase might explode. Nick already gives me the eye, when I have to sit on it in order to zip it!
What if I had a solution for you? Guess what, I DO! If you read my post called "The only underwear to wear while working out", then I'm talking about the same brand - Tasc Performance!
Long story short, Tasc makes all of their fitness products out of bamboo. Side note they do have some fabrics that aren't bamboo, but anything that touches your skin directly, is bamboo. (prime example, these shorts!) You might have heard of bamboo fabric before, but most companies that use it still involve chemicals in the process and/or it isn't grown in the correct conditions. Tasc works directly with a family owned bamboo plant and makes sure they only use the highest quality bamboo.
Okay, okay, so they use bamboo. What makes them different besides using pure bamboo? Well, bamboo has natural qualities that mimic a lot of performance wear on the market, except it is natural and those other performance items aren't. Technology has produced a lot of cool things in the fitness field, but what most people don't know, is how many chemicals and stuff are used to create them. We don't really know what those chemicals might do to us and I don't want to be the one to find out, you know? There's a huge movement in today's society to be more natural and Tasc is the front runner for that in the fitness department. No harmful chemicals. Can I get an amen?
If that was cool to you, then hold onto your hat, because your mind is about to be blown!! Tasc Performance products don't smell. Among bamboo's other great qualities, is an AMAZING one that naturally allows it to not hold a scent - good or bad. Yes Tasc advertises this, but I have personally tried it! When I was in Saint Lucia, I only brought Tasc Fitness wear and it worked like a charm! I actually knew it worked before then, because Nick tried it out and boys have a whole different level of stink. Or should I call it stank?! He has this tee and wore it to run in, play sand volleyball and move, without washing it in-between. After all that? Still no smell!
Now, before you tell me that I'm gross, hold up. Whenever I re-wear it, I hang it up. If you leave it wadded up in your floor and you sweated quite a bit, chances are that it is still going to a little wet next time you reach for it, because you didn't let it dry out. Also, I don't do this all the time, but sometimes it is super helpful - whether I'm on a trip or just haven't had time to do laundry. Tasc performance wear is very popular with climbers and such, because it works as a perfect base layer!! When you climb or hike for an extended period of time, you can't shower - think of what a game changer these are for super outdoorsy people!
Here are some of my favorite items from their current collection. They'd make a great gift for the fitness fiends in your life!
What do you think? Would you try it or do you think I'm gross? (hah!)
P.S. these photos were taken in Saint Lucia. Keep up with all of my Saint Lucia posts - catch up by reading my honeymoon packing list and New Name, New Purse: Personalized Crossbody Pouch.
