Sunshine is hereeee! ām actually writing this post on the plane, on the way to Mexico. What a way to ring in the first day of summer! To be clear, by the time youāre reading this (the day after), Iāll be sitting by the pool, sipping something fruity. Cheers to that!!
I kind of thought this day [summer] would never comeā¦for multiple reasons. One being that we are currently in Mexico with friends and Iāve been looking forward to that. Two being that it felt like it was going to be cold forever! Iām now eating my words, as sweat drips off of my brow, buuut nevertheless, I welcome the warmth with happiness.

On my previous skincare seasonal updates, I have said āooh I feel like Iāve really got my routine down nowā and then something changedā¦ In reality, our skin is always changing, so I guess I shouldnāt be too bummed? If Iām changing my routine, I suppose I should be thankful that I can actually do that and that Iām able to listen to my body? I donāt knowā¦I just want to be in the groove with a trusted regimen for my skin!
On a similar note, Iāve also been kind of embarrassed to share what Iām doing, just because I keep having these weird breakouts. I actually mentioned this on my newsletter already, (sign up for my weekly newsletter here) but hadnāt really addressed that here yet. Iāll talk about them maybe later this year, but I think it is partially due to the stress of a new job (Historically Iāve always broken out when I begin a new occupation.) or maybe partially due to a medication my body is detoxing. I also know that I havenāt been getting great sleep and that is integral for good skin and body for that matter. I digressā¦
Now to that good goodā¦ my summer focused routine! In my spring skincare update, I mentioned that I changed my face wash, as I had just learned my favorite one actually did have coconut oil in it. Iām still using the one from spring, but have also started using Primally Pureās cleansing oil and it is glorious! (Try it for 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS) I stopped double cleansing for a little bit, but am back at it because I missed it. Read about what double cleansing is and why it is a good idea here. I also have been trying out some new stuff, so Iām excited to share!
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
Primally Pure Cleansing Oil (normal skin, but also available in dry and oily skin too - get them and ANY Primally Pure product for 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS)
Primally Pure Everything Spray (I use this as a toner.)
*jade roll* (read jade rolling benefits here!)
Primally Pure Beauty Cream (I spot treat any blemishes with this.)
Badger Mineral Sunscreen (A must for summer!)
EVENING SKINCARE ROUTINE
Primally Pure Cleansing Oil (normal skin, but also available in dry and oily skin too - get them and ANY Primally Pure product for 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS)
Cocokind Oil to Milk Cleanser
Primally Pure Everything Spray (I use this as a toner.)
Osea Malibu Hyaluronic Sea Serum OR Juice Beauty Blemish Serum (I alternate these every other night. I started the Juice Beauty Blemish Serum to try and help my trouble spots ā ie my chin, because it is basically an exfoliant and gets rid of dead skin cells, etc. that can cause breakouts!)
Primally Pure Beauty Cream (I spot treat any blemishes with this.)
*gua sha* (read gua sha benefits here!)
MASKS:
Indie Lee Clearing Mask (This was a new mask that my esthetician recommended. It is similar to the Juice Beauty Serum in the sense that is also to help exfoliate my skin and rid it of dead cells and prevent irritation. The reviews say it has a strong smell, but I actually like it and find it relaxing. Buuuut I enjoy a good menthol scent. Itās not chemically though and it doesnāt give me a headache. )
Homemade Charcoal Mask (I still havenāt shared this yet, but it is on my to-do list, I promise!)
Mahalo Petal Mask (The is also a new mask! I have been eyeing It for a while, but had been avoiding it because of the price tag. They had a birthday sale, so I snagged it! It is for hydration and I canāt wait to use it this summer. Because Iāve been fighting off a breakout, I havenāt tested this as much as I would have liked to, but I did use it yesterday pre-flight and it was great. Jury is still out on if it is worth the price. Will report back!)
Iām currently out, but I also really like the Osea Malibu masks for summer. They are clay based and great for excess oil.
As always, these products are all cruelty-free and on the nontoxic end of the spectrum. I try to use no higher than a 2 on EWGās scale. As for a skin update, my chin is looking better and better. Iāve been documenting, so I can share a bunch of comparison photos and canāt wait to do that. Sooo yeah. If you look at my phone pictures, you will find a bunch of chin photos. #dreamy. My hairline has also been a weird issue for me, because it has never really been a problem before. It got better, but broke out again. Iām still investigating, but am praying Iāll figure out a fix soon.
ALSO, something I just got was Primally Pureās new serums. They have clarify, plump and soothe. Iāll be testing them out over the coming months and am excited to share how they work. Until then, you can check them out for yourself and get 10% off w/code ELLEMULENOS.
My next facial is July 3 and Iām already ready for it! I see Amanda at Eleven Wellness and have been seeing her for about a year and a half. I try to go every 8 weeks. Would love to go more, but #budget ;) Iām excited to see what summer + vitamin d does for my skin. Will report back soon! You can expect a review of Primally Pureās Beauty Cream coming down the pipeline soon! Stay beautiful!! āCause you know that it isnāt just about skin and breakouts. True beauty comes from within!
