Happy Wednesday! As you may or may not know, Iā€™ve been writing my Women in the Workplace series for abouuuut a month now. For todayā€™s WITW Iā€™m happy to say that Iā€™m working with Lexington Law Firm to talk about credit scores and the practice of maintaining them. Not going to lie, I always have tried to slough off this knowledge retention to my dad or my now husband, but it is something that is super important whether you want to buy a house someday or are just trying to get some new wheels. Every year, millions of Americans are denied loans to purchase said things, simply because of credit report errors. A late payment or negative mark on your score may seem tiny, but they can have large repercussions. On average these things take at least 4 months to fix and can stay on your credit report for up to 7 years! Thatā€™s a lot of life that is affected by a seemingly small mark, donā€™t you think?

Not to scare you, buuuut these things shouldnā€™t be taken lightly! Nick and I have actually had our own scare with credit reports. When we got married, Nick moved in with me, as per usual. For some reason, the paper copy of his car payment never got forwarded to his new address. Not a big issue youā€™d think, as everything is online; however, his payment stopped going through due to a change on their system. He wasnā€™t notified of this change except by a letter he never received AND wasnā€™t told by the company that his payments werenā€™t being collected untilā€¦ well they didnā€™t tell them.

Andddd at that moment, our stomachs dropped too.

Knowing that we would eventually want to buy new cars and even possibly buy a house in the near future, Nick decided to reach out to Lexington Law Firm to help. You see, they are the oldest and most well known name in the credit repairing game. Not only do they have a great team to take on your case, but they have the technology to do so too. A MUST in this day and age! Youā€™d think it would be a fairly simple task to fight for your correct credit score, but there are three different credit bureaus and chances are, that all would need to be fixed. In our case, some were faster to update than others, buuuut you want them all fixed (duh) and as quickly as possible. Youā€™d think that having to fight Equifax, Experian AND TransUnion, itā€™d be a lot of money; but, Lexington Law Firm has packages starting under $50 per month for their service! Probablyyyy has something to do with the fact that they have trusted and long-standing relationships with the 3 credit bureaus mentioned above. In general, isnā€™t life typically easier when someone knows you already, plus knows the ins and outs of the issues? That is the case with Lexington Law Firm. What did I tell ya? They are great!

Nick and I are so glad they were able to help as fix our credit score, especially because our lease is up in 2 months. Who knows. We might be in the market to buy ;)

Just a side note, when brainstorming what kind of imagery to use for this post, I kept thinking of Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. Not only because my Instagram handle is @ELLEmulenos, but also because I kept relating the move to this situation. Like Lexington Law Firm, Elle takes the situation by the horns and gets it done, no matter how dire the situation seemed. Plus, it is pretty on theme for Women in the Workplace ;) In the future if you need some help with your credit score, please check out Lexington Law Firm. They really are the safest and most efficient way to help your credit score bounce back to what it should be!
